“We are San Diego's newest addiction specialists. With an already proven model at our Edgewater, Florida facility, Serenity Springs Recovery has partnered with Dr. John E. Humiston of San Diego to provide a unique and effective recovery treatment program. Dr. Humiston has used his NeuroRecover Treatment to help several hundred people suffering from addiction to recover over the last 11 years. NeuroRecover Treatment is the result of over 20 years of research by Dr. Humiston's teacher, Dr. William Hitt. This is the first such treatment that is effective in addressing the underlying chemical cause of addiction and dependence. There are many other treatments in which NAD formulas are used, but none contain the formula necessary to treat the underlying addiction issue. NeuroRecover is unique and effective, because while minimal NAD is used, the NeuroRecover formula has several very basic amino acids that have been proven to treat the underlying issues, as well as alleviate cravings. Individuals find that NeuroRecover relieves them from an otherwise painful and stressful detox in as little as three to four days. Then the Second phase of NeuroRecover begins, and individuals begin to get back their enthusiasm, memory, mental clarity and energy.
“Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is the therapy approach for BPD with the most research studies showing its effectiveness. The clinic director received 10 years of intensive DBT training from Marsha Linehan who developed DBT over 30 years ago to help people with BPD, suicidal behavior, and self-injury. The DBT Center of San Diego (DBTCSD) is the only clinic in San Diego providing all DBT modalities to adults and adolescents: DBT individual therapy, skills groups, 24-hrs per day skills coaching, and therapist consultation team. We also treat other emotion dysregulation and impulse-control disorders such as bipolar disorder, explosive anger, and addiction.

“Recovery from drug abuse will begin as soon as you take the step to get help. You may not know it, but reading this page or talking to us may be the action that saves your life. If you're unsure of what comes next, keep reading. You or your loved one may be living in a place of denial. They either cannot or will not accept the reality that there is a problem. Before any treatment will work, you must own up to the fact that you need help. Choosing the recovery plan that's right for you will depend on a few things: * The drug you use * How long you've been using * Where you live * Personal tastes and desires No one treatment option will work for everyone. The best choices for recovery from alcoholism and drug abuse are those that consider your specific situation and will meet your needs. Our dual-diagnosis will help you to get at the underlying issues that perhaps brought you to addiction.

“Centered Ground is the only provider of radically open DBT (RO-DBT) in the greater San Diego area. RO-DBT is the most current adaptation of traditional DBT for individuals who struggle with patterns overcontrolled behavior and emotional inhibition, including restricting eating disorders (e.g., anorexia nervosa), pervasive anxiety disorders, and chronic depression. RO-DBT provides psychoeducation and tools to address the underlying neurobiology behind these patterns, to facilitate greater self-understanding, compassion, and desired connection in relationships. The program includes a weekly two-hour skills training class. Dr. Klein directs and leads the program, based on her training through Behavioral Tech, with Dr. Thomas Lynch, of Southampton University in the UK, who developed the adaptation and has researched it for over the past 20 years. Dr. Klein is one of the 1st 60 clinicians in the U.S. to complete Dr. Lynch's intensive training in this approach and her supervision with Dr. Lynch is ongoing.
“AToN Center recognizes that while engaging in all components of treatment is essential; in order to meet the needs of today's working professionals, we must offer certain amenities that ensure both comfort and accessibility. In addition to individualized services at our private rehab center with luxury ammenities, AToN Center provides opportunities throughout the day to connect with the outside world while offering addiction treatment for professionals. To foster a work/treatment balance, cell phone and laptop use are permitted but restricted to client rooms and cannot interfere with a client's daily schedule. Many of AToN Center's clientele have expressed their appreciation as it pertains to our policies surrounding email, phone calls, and internet use; as these means of communication are imperative to their livelihood. We also maintain the philosophy that while one's recovery must come first, allowing clients in our executive rehab the opportunity to engage in business, conversation with loved ones, and to face everyday stressors while in treatment, provides AToN Center's clinical team with the unique ability to assist clients with stress reduction techniques, coping skills, healthy communication styles, and time management techniques in a tangible way.
“AToN Center is a program that was founded on non 12 Step treatment principles. Therefore, our Center was designed as an evidence-based best practice model for treatment of addiction free from the barriers many people experience with 12 Step only treatment programs. AToN Center's San Diego rehab offers Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as the clinical underpinning to all of our groups. We discuss an individual's potential to change from the basic premise that in order to change behavior, you first need to change your thinking and learn emotional regulation skills. Our family therapy is conducted with a motivational and empowering approach instead of the typical Al-anon only format to group family "education." We treat families and residents as individuals and offer the comfort and guidance of a clinician during private family sessions in our private drug rehab. We address spirituality not through "God-talk" but rather through mindfulness exercises that teach individuals how to center themselves and decrease impulsivity.
“We focus on treating drug and alcohol abuse in group and individual therapies. Sanctuary Center provides a free extensive continued care program that promotes long term recovery, healthy lifestyles, and positive family relationships. Families in crisis can take advantage of the free evaluation process. This process can help in finding an appropriate treatment direction.
“We are dedicated to helping our clients work toward their goals in a safe, comfortable, and confidential space. We will work with you to build an understanding of your situation and your self to solve problems when possible, accept painful truths when necessary, and help connect you to your deep, and sometimes unknown, inner resources with which to courageously and actively engage whatever situations arise in your life.
“The Counseling Clinics of La Jolla (CCLJ) is a private practice consortium of licensed, independent mental health professionals. Areas of expertise among our members include Addiction Counseling, Alcohol Detoxification, Art Therapy, Divorce Mediation, Child Therapy, Individual, Family, and Couples Therapy, Pain Management, and Medical Opiate Detoxification. In addition to our outpatient therapy services, We offer childcare for all clients during their sessions, and strive to provide services that exceed expectations.
Inpatient or Outpatient Treatment
INPATIENT TREATMENT: WHAT'S INVOLVED?
Residential Inpatient treatment in San Diego usually consists of 24 hour care at a live-in facility. Full treatment services, including medical and behavioral therapy are provided all at one location near San Diego.
Medical supervision is generally placed over each resident. In drug treatment centers, clients can detox safely. In eating disorder centers in San Diego, residential programs enable effective monitoring of the client's health during the treatment program.
Inpatient care offers a structured atmosphere and allows the client and providers to focus on physical and psychological healing.
OUTPATIENT TREATMENT: WHAT'S INVOLVED?
Outpatient treatment programs in San Diego or clinics provide flexibility to those who are unable to take time away from their regular lives, work or school. Programs typically meet at the clinic a couple of times every week for a few hours at a time.
Because clients are living away from the centers, outpatient facilities in San Diego are less able to focus on medical conditions and nutritional needs.
Certain programs provide a combination of the in/out approach: Inpatient for medical stabilization, partial hospitalization for moderate cases, intensive outpatient programs, and outpatient clinics for follow-up.
INPATIENT OR OUTPATIENT: WHAT'S RIGHT FOR ME?
* How much can you afford? Generally, San Diego outpatient treatment is cheaper than inpatient treatment because housing is not provided and fewer hours of treatment (and often fewer therapy alternatives) are offered.
* Are you able to control your behaviors? Inpatient treatment provides constant supervision to offset the temptation of drugs or eating disordered behavior in the early stages of treatment.
* Follow-up support network near San Diego? If you do decide to attend inpatient treatment, look for a center that can offer you or direct you to another service where you will be provided with follow-up care after you leave in an effort to avoid relapse.
* Is your condition severe? Constant medical attention is given to those in inpatient care, which may be especially important for those with pain and eating disorders.
