The Firefly Institute provides counseling to support individuals, groups and families across the lifespan. We offer a variety of services including treatment options that are highly specialized such as animal assisted therapies, therapeutic art, play therapy and EMDR. These services are provided by skilled clinicians who have certification in the treatment program they are offering and include telehealth. This is what sets us apart from other clinics or practitioners. Training for specialized care is rigorous and requires significant commitment to education post graduate. Firefly clinicians train to do the work correctly by accredited training programs or institutions. Areas of specialty include: relationships, grief/loss, chronic illness, abuse/trauma, PTSD, mood imbalances, child therapy, attachment issues, behavior issues, anxiety, adoption/foster care issues, divorce and difficult life transitions or change. At Evolve Residential Treatment Centers, we provide the highest caliber of evidence-based treatment for teens and children ages 12-17 struggling with depression, anxiety, substance use, dual diagnosis, ADHD, self-harming or high-risk behaviors, suicidality, and other emotional/behavioral issues. Our primary therapeutic modalities include Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Teens and children participate in individual and family therapy at least 5 times a week; weekly psychiatry sessions; daily groups (on DBT Skills Training, Anger Management, Seeking Safety, and Relapse Prevention); and daily academics. For families from out-of-state, we conduct family therapy remotely. At Evolve, our goal is compassionate, high-quality treatment that will last long after your child or teen leaves our program. We offer daily experiential activities proven to support recovery (e.g. equine therapy, surf, art, drama, music, yoga, etc.) and 12-Step/SMART Recovery programs for those struggling with dual diagnoses. At Tigard Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), we offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for adults age 18 and older who are struggling with addictions to opioids. Research has shown that MAT can be an effective way to treat opioid addiction; in particular, it can help prevent relapse, increase treatment retention, and decrease the use of illicit opioids. Some methadone clinics offer one type of prescription medication to help people manage withdrawal symptoms and relieve cravings. However, at Tigard CTC, we provide methadone, buprenorphine, Suboxone, or naltrexone for patients depending on their individual needs. The medications offered in our MAT program can make it easier for people to end opioid use and avoid relapse, as well as help them improve functioning in their daily lives. But medication is not the only important component of MAT at Tigard CTC. MAT is a whole-person approach that includes counseling as well. At our CTC, we offer individual and group counseling sessions where patients can explore and understand their mental and emotional needs and create a personal road map for their recovery.
