Bellingham Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), located in Bellingham, Washington, offers medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for adults age 18 and older who are suffering from addictions to opioids, including heroin and prescription painkillers. MAT programs combine the use of prescription medication with counseling support, helping patients end opioid use and build a foundation for long-term recovery. MAT is research-supported and recommended by respected organizations like the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) as an effective form of opioid addiction treatment. When you participate in our outpatient MAT program, you can receive a prescription for methadone or buprenorphine — medications that can relieve the powerful symptoms and cravings that are associated with opioid withdrawal. By reducing the distressing symptoms of withdrawal, MAT medications can support patients as they navigate the treatment process. An important part of this process involves participating in therapy sessions, where patients can develop skills and work toward positive lifestyle changes that can help sustain recovery.

Adult, Young Adult (18-30), 50+, and Adolescent (13-17) PHP, partial hospitalization, programs. Using CBT and ACT programming, medication management, nursing groups, rec and music therapy, the Partial Hospitalization Program provides treatment for people struggling with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD and other mood disorders. Patients participate in group therapy for six hours a day, five days per week. The Adolescent PHP program is available virtually or on-site.

Individual and group therapy sessions can help someone identify why they turned to opioids in the first place and learn coping skills to prevent future relapse.
