Brighter Start Health is a substance abuse treatment facility located in the beautiful city of Wilmington, NC. We address the effects of drug and alcohol abuse on the individual and their families.

We are the sole comprehensive treatment program for eating disorders in southeastern North Carolina, with both outpatient and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) services. Because expert level care is important to us, we employ the only Certified Eating Disorders Specialists in the region to address all clinical and subclinical eating and body image issues. In addition, we employ the region's only Certified Eating Disorders Registered Dietitian. Treatment can include specialized assessments; individual, family, and group counseling, medication management, nutritional counseling, meal support, and collaboration with higher levels of care. We also offer a cutting edge aftercare program for Weight Loss Surgery patients with nationally recognized bariatric experts. We have treated thousands of individuals with eating disorders since we were established in 2003 and at any given time, at least 50% of our client population struggles with some form of an eating disorder.

AToN Center recognizes that a single modality doesn't successfully meet the needs of every individual that is seeking recovery, and therefore we must offer a multitude of methods in order to capture the needs of each client. We are not a standard 12 Step program, and offer and encourage exploration of other philosophies.
