Arbour Hospital has a long history of providing a continuum of quality behavioral health care in the greater Boston area. We serve adolescents and adults in an inpatient hospital in Jamaica Plain and two outpatient locations, in Jamaica Plain and Quincy.

Stetson School is a COA accredited, Residential and Education Treatment program, which is fully licensed by the Massachusetts Departments of Early Education and Care, and Elementary and Secondary Education. We serve young men, ages 9-22, who have problematic behaviors, sexually reactive behaviors, complex developmental difficulties, chronic mental illness and other behavioral issues. Stetson supports young men who have suffered from severe trauma, have histories of physical, emotional and/or sexual abuse and who may have had disrupted living arrangements or placements. The Hospital for Behavioral Medicine (HBM) offers innovative inpatient services for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. Inpatient services focus on crisis stabilization, medication management, group treatment and discharge/transition planning. Our dedicated staff of doctors, nurses, case managers, and mental health technicians are committed to providing the highest quality of patient care, bringing creativity, expressive arts, and best practices to manage and reduce unsafe behaviors.

If a person tries to stop using an addictive substance without professional assistance, they can experience withdrawal symptoms that are often painful and dangerous. Withdrawal symptoms can interfere with someone’s determination to achieve recovery. At Southcoast Behavioral Health, we offer a detoxification program that can help patients safely rid their bodies of toxic substances. Our goal is to support each of our patients so that they can go through the withdrawal process as comfortably as possible. Detox services at Southcoast are available for adults age 18 and older who are suffering from substance use disorders and are ready to take the first steps toward recovery. Patients participate in our detox program for an average of five to seven days, receiving assistance from our care team, which includes physicians, registered nurses, and psychiatrists.

The Triangle Program at Arbour-HRI Hospital offers both Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP). Services include short-term intensive group therapy geared towards the unique mental health needs of the adult LGBTQIAA+ population. Common issues addressed include, but are not limited to, mood instability, stress, anxiety, depression, disorganized thinking, trauma, co-occurring addictions, and gender dysphoria. Participants attend group therapy sessions, meet with a clinician for individual counseling and case management needs, and a psychiatric prescriber for medication management. For all of the PHPs at Arbour-HRI Hospital, breakfast and lunch are provided as a part of the program. As well, participants can be supported in securing transportation within a ten-mile radius to and from the program. Requests for transportation services must be made after the initial intake.

Located in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, Southcoast Behavioral Health is a premier provider of inpatient treatment for children and adolescents ages 5-17. Our expert staff provides care for young people who are struggling with mental health concerns like depression, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), psychosis, suicidal ideation, and self-harm. In our adolescent inpatient program, we can help young people who are experiencing mental health crises stabilize so that they can step down to a lower level of care or return home. While in our inpatient unit, children and adolescents can receive focused care in a safe setting so that they can regain a sense of security and well-being. Our multidisciplinary staff provides evidence-based, patient-centered treatments such as motivational interviewing, dialectical behavior therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy. The typical length of stay in our adolescent inpatient program is around five to seven days, though the actual time each person spends in our care depends on their needs.
