Our inpatient treatment services are designed for patients age 18 and older who have been experiencing symptoms of mental health disorders such as bipolar disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), schizophrenia, and schizoaffective disorder. Meeting the unique personal needs of each patient is a priority at our hospital. That’s why each person who is admitted to our inpatient program completes a thorough medical and psychological assessment. We then create a personalized treatment plan that may include a variety of clinical services, such as basic medical care, medication management services, detoxification, individual therapy, multiple types of group therapy, and family therapy. We also develop detailed discharge plans to promote continued progress after a patient has completed their stay with us. Patients typically remain in our inpatient treatment program for five to seven days.

Located in Lafayette, Louisiana, Vermilion Behavioral Health Systems is a premier inpatient treatment center for adolescents ages 12-17 who are experiencing symptoms of mental health disorders. Young people who receive treatment in our adolescent inpatient program may be struggling with concerns such as attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, depression, conduct disorder, intermittent explosive disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), self-harm, and co-occurring addictions. At Vermilion, adolescent inpatient treatment typically lasts between seven and 10 days and may incorporate the following treatment modalities as needed: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, mindfulness, rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT), and 12-Step programming. Our adolescent inpatient program, which includes customized services for psychiatric care and addiction treatment, can help adolescents build awareness about the mental health challenges they may be struggling with and develop coping skills that can support long-term healing.
