The Founders, Dr. Ray & Rev. Jean Kadkhodaian, having an extensive background in the mental health field, began to see a need for an integrative approach when treating mental and emotional health, since the standard treatment approach seemed to favor the use of medications. Hence, today The Lighthouse offers a plethora of traditional and integrative services in order to provide as many resources necessary to treat the overall health and wellness of each and every client.

All patients at the Portrait Health Centers are assigned a Patient Coordinator trained to act as a Patient Educator and Patient Advocate not only for the benefit of the patient but for the family, as well. Each patient's coordinator fully explains each option available to them and assists in making the right decision as to the course of treatment. Because all medical specialties are located within the Portrait Health Centers, the Patient Coordinator can help arrange an appointment with any of the departments to insure organized and predictive care. “For over 20 years, I have committed my work to healing the personal and relational damage caused by substance abuse and addiction, emotional disorders, and relational discord. I draw on multiple treatment approaches - particularly systems theory, relapse prevention training, cognitive-affective-behavioral theory, and brief solution-focused theory - in restoring one's dignity and worth.
“Our practice is guided by the most current research available. The treatments we utilize have been shown to be most effective in reducing symptoms and improving quality of life among patients with anxiety, mood and related disorders. We focus on what works. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an umbrella term for methods that share a focus on thoughts and behaviors that maintain symptoms, willingness to try new behaviors, and patterns of relating to our experiences. Between-session practice of these strategies serves to consolidate gains achieved in treatment sessions.
“As a multi-specialty group practice, our goal is to provide an individual approach to treatment based on each client's needs. We work from a strength-based approach, and provide a variety of services ranging from individual and/or family work to psychological testing and evaluation.

At CORE, we can help you find your foundation, strengthen it, and use it to empower yourself and your relationships with others. Your core is made up of many elements: your relationships with family and friends, your values, your beliefs, your culture, and your personality.

Inpatient or Outpatient Treatment
INPATIENT TREATMENT: WHAT'S INVOLVED?
Residential Inpatient treatment in Illinois (IL) usually consists of 24 hour care at a live-in facility. Full treatment services, including medical and behavioral therapy are provided all at one location near Illinois (IL).
Medical supervision is generally placed over each resident. In drug treatment centers, clients can detox safely. In eating disorder centers in Illinois (IL), residential programs enable effective monitoring of the client's health during the treatment program.
Inpatient care offers a structured atmosphere and allows the client and providers to focus on physical and psychological healing.
OUTPATIENT TREATMENT: WHAT'S INVOLVED?
Outpatient treatment programs in Illinois (IL) or clinics provide flexibility to those who are unable to take time away from their regular lives, work or school. Programs typically meet at the clinic a couple of times every week for a few hours at a time.
Because clients are living away from the centers, outpatient facilities in Illinois (IL) are less able to focus on medical conditions and nutritional needs.
Certain programs provide a combination of the in/out approach: Inpatient for medical stabilization, partial hospitalization for moderate cases, intensive outpatient programs, and outpatient clinics for follow-up.
INPATIENT OR OUTPATIENT: WHAT'S RIGHT FOR ME?
* How much can you afford? Generally, Illinois (IL) outpatient treatment is cheaper than inpatient treatment because housing is not provided and fewer hours of treatment (and often fewer therapy alternatives) are offered.
* Are you able to control your behaviors? Inpatient treatment provides constant supervision to offset the temptation of drugs or eating disordered behavior in the early stages of treatment.
* Follow-up support network near Illinois (IL)? If you do decide to attend inpatient treatment, look for a center that can offer you or direct you to another service where you will be provided with follow-up care after you leave in an effort to avoid relapse.
* Is your condition severe? Constant medical attention is given to those in inpatient care, which may be especially important for those with pain and eating disorders.
