Turning Point of Tampa is located in Tampa, Florida. We provide affordable Detox, Residential, Day Treatment and Intensive Outpatient Treatment services for addiction, eating disorders and dual diagnosis. We follow a 12-Step addiction model and are licensed by the Department of Children and Families and Accredited by the Joint Commission. Emphasis is placed on the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the whole person encouraging "Recovery Through Responsibility." We treat alcoholism, poly substance use disorder, specifically opiates, heroin, benzodiazepines, amphetamines, marijuana and illicit drugs, including synthetic designer drugs. When a client completes treatment at Turning Point of Tampa they are invited to a free after-care group on Wednesday nights, therapist facilitated. This is an open ended group and clients attend as long as they choose to.

Avenues Recovery Center at Louisiana is an inpatient residential facility which offers drug and alcohol rehabilitation services as well as withdrawal management. Its unique setup – one treatment facility surrounded by 10 beautiful, converted townhomes – enables clients to engage in full-time inpatient treatment while separately residing in a warm domestic setting, removing barriers and diminishing any institutionalized feeling. At The Refuge, A Healing Place, we provide residential programming for adults age 18 and older who are struggling with substance use disorders, eating disorders, and mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and self-harming behaviors. Treatment in our adult residential program typically lasts a minimum of 30 days, but a client's unique needs and circumstances determine their actual length of stay. Clients in residential treatment receive personalized care to aid in their healing journeys. Treatment is delivered by an expert team that is comprised of counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists, registered dietitians, medical doctors, registered nurses, certified nursing assistants, equine therapists, and certified trauma therapists. We strive to treat clients with empathy and respect while encouraging them to pursue happier, healthier lives.

As First Light celebrates the end of our fourth year in helping children and families, my team continues to look for ways to expand our healing work to more families. Although we have successfully navigated alternate funding streams to help families afford mental health treatment, it is not enough. Outdoor behavioral health continues to be a challenging level of care to find coverage.
