Evolve Treatment Centers supports adolescents ages 12-17 struggling with mental health, addiction, and/or behavioral issues. Evolve Vanalden is a Comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Residential Treatment Center: the first of its kind in California and one of only a handful in the country. DBT is an evidence-based treatment that has been proven to help reduce emotion dysregulation, self-harming behavior, and/or suicidal ideation. We treat teens diagnosed with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, borderline personality disorder, addiction, or other issues. Evolve's robust clinical program includes individual and family therapy (at least five scheduled 1-hour sessions a week), DBT Skills Training Groups (4 times a week), and skills coaching (24/7). Our Comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) residential treatment center in L.A. is perfect for teens and children ages 12-17 who struggle with mental or behavioral health, substance use, and dual diagnosis. Dialectical Behavior Therapy has a high success rate with substance use, depression, anxiety, high emotional sensitivity, self-harm, and/or suicidal behaviors. Our program incorporates all four requirements of a formal Comprehensive-DBT program: individual/family therapy, 24/7 in-the-moment skills coaching, skills training groups, and weekly staff consultation team. For out-of-state families, we conduct family therapy sessions via HIPAA-compliant video conference. In our skills-training groups, teens learn the four core skill-sets of DBT: Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Interpersonal Effectiveness, & Distress Tolerance. Adolescents benefit from psychiatric supervision, academic support, and experiential therapies: equine, surf, drama, music, art, yoga and more. While our primary modality is DBT, we also incorporate CBT, 12-Step, Relapse Prevention, PTSD treatment, and other evidence-based modalities depending on your teen or child’s clinical needs.

Akua Strong Facility at Long Beach offers outpatient dual-diagnosis treatment for adults suffering from substance use and mental health disorders. We provide IOP & PHP programs that include many treatment modalities, such as psychotherapy approaches, medications, and holistic approaches such as yoga, meditation, and mindfulness therapies. Evidence-based treatment for dual-diagnosis disorders includes drugs or psychotherapy, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, or a combination. Medications are prescribed for specific conditions evaluated by our medical director: whereas psychotherapy, in one form or another, can be used for mental health disorders. We also provide medical evaluations and individual and group therapies and offer family therapy for those looking to rebuild relationships.

Muir Wood Adolescent and Family Services treats teen boys and girls ages 12 – 17 experiencing substance use and mental health conditions. Our campuses are beautiful, home-like settings in Sonoma County, Clovis and Riverside, California, where clients enjoy camaraderie, benefit from intensive integrated therapy, and enjoy recreation and experiential therapy activities. Boys and girls are treated and housed separately to eliminate drama and distraction.
