Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) was initially developed by Marsha Linehan in the early 1990’s to help clients that were suicidal or intentionally self-injuring. However, it has been shown to be effective with other impulse control disorders including substance abuse. This is a strength based, skills building program. We teach 4 sets of skills in a 25 week model, Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotion Regulation, and Distress Tolerance. We have a program for teens and adults in three locations, Auburn, Davis and Folsom.

Located in Rose Garden, San Jose, Evolve’s partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs treat teens ages 12-17 with mental health, addiction, dual diagnosis, and/or behavioral issues. Our licensed, specialized staff utilize evidence-based treatments such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), daily group sessions and psychoeducation, individual and family therapy, multifamily groups, and psychiatry.
