At Evolve Ojai, we provide the highest caliber of evidence-based residential treatment for children and adolescents 12-17 struggling with depression, anxiety, substance use, dual diagnosis, ADHD, self-harming or high-risk behaviors, suicidality, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder, and other emotional/behavioral issues. Our primary modes of treatment are Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. We believe treatment works best when it is individually tailored. Our clinical staff conducts a comprehensive evaluation of each child and teen pre- and post-admission in order to develop a customized, highly detailed treatment plan that is constantly updated based on treatment progress. Our robust clinical program includes individual and family therapy, weekly psychiatry, daily academics, and groups on DBT Skills Training, Anger Management, Relapse Prevention, & Seeking Safety. Kids and teens also participate in experiential therapies (e.g. equine, surfing, music, art, dance, kickboxing, fitness, cooking, yoga, and meditation). We offer 12-Step/SMART Recovery programs for those struggling with substance use and dual diagnoses.

The Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program at Metamorphosis is a structured, short-term treatment program designed for adolescents ages 13–17 who struggle with suicidal thoughts and are at risk of hospitalization or are in need of a more intensive level of therapy than traditional counseling provides. Adolescents in our IOP will benefit from being in intensive therapy three times a week, 3 hrs a day, while remaining at home, in school and a part of the community during their treatment.

Insurance covers up to 100 percent of the treatment and therapeutic modalities that Newport Academy offers. We accept all major insurance providers and work collaboratively with payers to optimize coverage for families. Many adolescents who receive treatment from Newport Academy using insurance coverage do so through a Single Case Agreement, a special contract through which out-of-network providers can work with a family’s insurance company on an In-Network basis. Newport Academy maintains a full-time, in-house team dedicated to supporting families through the mental health insurance coverage and financing process. In order to secure sufficient insurance coverage, we will most likely need to conduct a series of clinical reviews and any requested doctor-to-doctor calls with the insurance company. While other facilities may charge for this service, we feel it is our responsibility to assist families with what can be a complex process. Our goal is to ensure that families receive the maximum coverage, so they can access the highest-quality treatment.
