Sonora Behavioral Health Hospital provides a partial hospitalization program (PHP) for adults age 18 and older and adolescents ages 12-17 who are suffering from mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. We also serve people who are struggling with an addiction to substances such as marijuana, alcohol, or cocaine. Day treatment can be an excellent option for people who may benefit from highly structured therapy but don’t need the 24/7 support of an inpatient program. At Sonora Behavioral Health Hospital, we primarily use group therapy to help people learn important skills to manage their symptoms and prevent relapse. Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) forms the foundation of our group therapy sessions, but we also use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), the 12 Steps of recovery, and the Gorski model of relapse prevention. We may also recommend individual, family, and experiential therapies depending on a person’s specific situation. Most people participate in this program for about two weeks, though each person’s actual length of stay in our program is based on their individual progress.

At Sonora Behavioral Health Hospital, we offer inpatient treatment for adults and seniors who are suffering from a mental health concern such as depression, anxiety, or posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). We also serve people who are struggling with an addiction to substances such as alcohol, cocaine, or heroin. Because the goal of inpatient treatment is to help individuals regain a sense of control and safety, most people usually only stay for about six days. During this time, they typically participate in group therapy sessions that address topics related to their goals. These sessions often integrate evidence-based methods such as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing, and the 12 Steps of recovery. Depending on their needs, a person’s treatment plan may also include services such as detox, basic medical care, medication management, one-on-one meetings with a social worker, and family education. We customize each person’s treatment to their specific strengths and challenges so that they are best prepared to meet their recovery goals.

Oasis Behavioral Health provides two separate intensive outpatient programs (IOPs): an adolescent IOP for young people ages 11-17 and an IOP for adults age 18 and older. Both tracks are available for people who are suffering from mental health concerns and addictions. Intensive outpatient programming can be an ideal option for patients who do not require round-the-clock monitoring or live-in care. Those who participate in our IOPs have the flexibility to continue fulfilling their responsibilities outside of treatment, whether at school, at work, or in their communities. Adolescents and adults may enter intensive outpatient treatment directly without completing a higher level of care. Patients in our IOPs attend treatment three days a week for an average of eight weeks. During this time, they may engage in several evidence-based modalities, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, 12-Step programming, and group therapy. We also offer an education-focused support group for families and parents that takes place twice a month.
