"North Bay Recovery Center is a private, innovative drug and alcohol treatment center exclusively for adult men ocated in San Rafael, California, just north of the San Francisco Bay Area. Our Marin County rehab facility helps young men who are addicted to alcohol or addicted to drugs heal and move forward with their lives. North Bay Recovery Center provides full-immersion addiction treatment for clients at every stage of recovery from drug and alcohol dependency. We provide a more evolved, pragmatic and holistic drug and alcohol addiction treatment program for Bay Area men with all substance abuse problems.Treating drug addiction and alcoholism in men is dramatically different than treating women with addiction disorders. For one, the core issues that are understood to cause addiction in men revolve around uniquely male experiences that can include father-son dynamics, denied emotions, emancipation, intimacy, and pressures related to stereotyped expectations of men. It follows then, that drug and alcohol treatment and subsequent long-term recovery in men requires its own unique protocol. This understanding makes addiction treatment at North Bay Recovery Center a unique experience."

"Identifying mental health issues requires a keen understanding of the inner workings of the mind and how it translates into behavior. It should be understood that the symptoms of mental health problems often overlap one another. Unlike organic conditions where pathognomonic signs can be taken as the hallmark of a particular disease, there is no such thing as an identifying mark in a mental illness."

"Direct Neurofeedback® is an extremely low-strength electric current that is effective in reducing the symptoms of anxiety, depression, traumatic brain injury (TBI), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), addiction, attention deficit disorder (ADD/ADHD), insomnia, and chronic pain. Direct Neurofeedback sends a tiny, imperceptible signal to the brain that causes a slight fluctuation in brainwaves. This fluctuation allows the brain to reorganize itself and get out of frozen, stuck patterns, like re-booting a frozen computer. The percentage of patients that receive substantial benefit is upwards of 80%. Of those, the large majority experience initial improvement in the very first session. These initial improvements are temporary, lasting from a few hours to a few days. With further treatment the improvements endure. An average of about 20 sessions is needed. Treatment is not necessary on an ongoing basis. Although the conditions that improve have very different causes, there is one common denominator: they are stuck in dysfunctional patterns. HPN causes a "disruption" of that pattern regardless of origin, and allows the brain to either return to its "factory specifications" or begin creating new, healthy patterns. This coincides with the tremendous amount of research demonstrating a newly discovered "neuroplasticity" in the brain."
