Led by our Director of Outpatient and staffed with a team of medical professionals (Psychiatrists, Therapists and Registered Nurse), each program uses elements of evidence-based practice such as Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help patients in need of more supportive treatment. Sea Coast Recovery is a day treatment program providing substance abuse treatment to individuals battling an addiction problem. We treat adults, ages 18 and up. Our Mission is to empower individuals through a holistic perspective to develop tools to recover from addiction and the impact it has caused on their lives, through prevention, education, crisis management, and treatment services. Clients will gain an understanding of addiction, develop coping skills, practice mindfulness techniques, and practice coping skills in the community so that they can retrain their brain how to live a fulfilled life.

Carolina House offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP) in Raleigh, North Carolina, for people age 17 and older of all genders who are struggling with anorexia, bulimia, and other eating disorders. At our outpatient treatment center, clients can receive care while still fulfilling their daily responsibilities, such as attending school or work. Clients can enter outpatient care directly or transition to treatment from a more intensive level of care. Typically, the duration of our IOP is 30-60 days, and clients participate in three-hour treatment sessions five days a week. We offer a range of diverse services in our IOP, including individual, family, group, and experiential therapies that are led by highly trained eating disorder treatment specialists. Our therapies are informed by dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) to meet the unique needs of each person. In group therapy, discussions may cover topics such as nutrition education, healthy coping skills, body image acceptance, and relapse prevention strategies.

At Carolina House, we recognize that our eating disorder treatment program is only one part of a client’s journey toward healing. When someone participates in our intensive outpatient program, partial hospitalization program, or residential treatment program, they will receive a comprehensive discharge plan that includes recommendations for various continuing care services to support long-term recovery. These services may consist of outpatient primary care, sessions with a therapist or psychiatrist, consultations with a dietitian, support groups, and educational resources. Our clinical team works closely with each client and their loved ones throughout the treatment process to create and modify the client’s discharge plan based on their specific needs. We want every person to know that they do not stop receiving comprehensive support and encouragement when they finish treatment.
