Milestone Recovery offers treatment to individuals who are struggling with substance abuse as well as co-occurring disorders. At Milestone Recovery, we developed our trauma informed program around the belief that in order to provide effective care, we need to understand and acknowledge a persons life experiences. We approach substance abuse and mental health treatment from a biopsychosocial model, meaning we explore the interconnection between a persons biological, psychological, and socio-environmental factors. Our groups were developed using evidence based practices and focus on developing emotional regulation, establishing healthy problem solving skills, altering negative thinking patterns, reducing interpersonal conflict, improving relationships, reducing negative self-talk and increasing feelings of self-worth. Milestone offers weekly individual therapy with our Clinical Therapist, who specializes in trauma therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). At Milestone we believe the goal of therapy goes beyond teaching individuals how to cope; our goal is to see individuals thrive. Ask about Ketamine assisted therapy as well!

The clinic offers two levels of outpatient treatment to help adults whose lives have been disrupted by depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and co-occurring addiction. Our partial hospitalization program (PHP) and intensive outpatient program (IOP) each feature a customized array of evidence-based, research-backed services. Adults can step down to these programs after completing residential or inpatient treatment, step up after completing traditional outpatient care or enter directly at the PHP or IOP level. Each adult undergoes a comprehensive assessment prior to admission that allows our team to develop a personalized treatment plan. At the PHP level, that plan may consist of medication management services, basic medical care, individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy and experiential therapies. Adults in the IOP participate in weekly individual therapy and a variety of daily group therapy sessions. All clients who receive care at our outpatient clinic benefit from working in close collaboration with a team of compassionate and dedicated professionals whose sole goal is to help guide them toward better health.

We specialize in treating mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, PTSD/trauma, ADHD, self-harm, and social concerns like relationship challenges and we are especially skilled in treating these conditions with group-based therapy.
Simply put, it’s our mission to provide effective, caring, and high-quality mental health services. In our Tucson, Arizona mental health clinic, we provide in-person and telehealth therapy, medication management and telepsychiatry, intensive outpatient programs (IOP) and partial hospitalization programs (PHP). What we do impacts the lives of our clients and their friends and families, and we take this responsibility seriously. The quality of our treatment is so important to us that we voluntarily completed the rigorous process required to receive accreditation by The Joint Commission. This difficult accreditation is usually only attempted by hospitals because of the intensity of the requirements – making us one of the only outpatient mental health practices in the Tucson area to achieve this. We offer the full continuum of outpatient mental health services, which means that you can work with the same treatment team as your needs evolve – no more starting over again with someone new as needs change. Our diverse team can work with the whole family – children, teens, and adults and over the years we have had the honor of working with multiple family members at the same time.

Whether you are an adult or a teenager dealing with a depression, anxiety, trauma, or an OCD diagnosis, you have come to the right place. People seek us out when the demands of life have become too difficult to manage on a daily basis. Life might even feel like it is going backwards. You have have given yourself the pep talks about how this day is going to be different and maybe you can piece things together for a week or so at a time, but nothing has quite seemed to stick. Perhaps it seems like some things are going well, but you still don't feel like yourself and you know that there is more to life. You need the right tools to get out of the battles in your mind. You are not here because your are inherently broken. You do not need to stay like this for the rest of your life. There is not something that is ultimately wrong with you. You just haven't found the right way out...yet.

At our S. Phoenix / S. Mountain mental health clinic, we provide in-person and telehealth therapy, medication management and telepsychiatry, intensive outpatient programs (IOP) and partial hospitalization programs (PHP). What we do impacts the lives of our clients and their friends and families, and we take this responsibility seriously. The quality of our treatment is so important to us that we voluntarily completed the rigorous process required to receive accreditation by The Joint Commission. This difficult accreditation is usually only attempted by hospitals because of the intensity of the requirements – making us one of the only outpatient mental health practices in the Phoenix area to achieve this. We offer the full continuum of outpatient mental health services, which means that you can work with the same treatment team as your needs evolve – no more starting over again with someone new as needs change. Our diverse team can work with the whole family – children, teens, and adults and over the years we have had the honor of working with multiple family members at the same time.

We provide in-person and telehealth therapy, medication management and telepsychiatry, intensive outpatient programs (IOP) and partial hospitalization programs (PHP).

Adolescents may face challenges such as bullying, trauma, and societal pressures that can negatively affect their mental health, and we take a specialized approach to treating these unique concerns.
Oasis Behavioral Health, located in Chandler, Arizona, is an inpatient treatment center serving adults age 18 and older who are suffering from substance use disorders and mental health concerns. The goal of inpatient care is to stabilize patients who are in crisis and prepare them for the next phase of their healing journey. To enter treatment at the inpatient level, a person must be a danger to themselves or others, be in need of detoxification services, or have severely impaired judgment. Adults in our inpatient program must be willing to participate in treatment and take medications as recommended by their providers. While the average length of stay in this program is seven to 13 days, each patient’s actual program duration depends on the progress they make during treatment. In our inpatient setting, patients can take part in evidence-based modalities like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and 12-Step programming.

Trauma and PTSD Treatment Centers

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
