The Ascension Center for Mental Health (formerly Alexian Brothers) in Arlington Heights, offers an array of outpatient services.Individual therapy is available for children, adolescents and adults, including couples and family therapy. Other services include medication management with a psychiatrist, case management services, vocational rehabilitation, supported education and transitional and supportive living arrangements. In addition, for those whose symptoms are increasing, we offer an alternative to an in-patient hospitalization. Our Partial Hospitalization Program/Intensive Outpatient Program consists of a small group program daily from 9-3 for approximately three weeks, individual therapy and medication evaluation and monitoring. Evolve’s residential treatment center offers compassionate, evidence-based treatment to adolescents ages 12-17 struggling with mental health, substance use, and/or behavioral issues. Many of our teens have been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, trauma, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, ADHD, conduct disorder, self-harming or high-risk behaviors, and suicidal ideation. Our handpicked treatment team consists of board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrists, licensed therapists, on-site nurses, Master’s-level residential counselors and 24-hour support staff. We utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) integrated with experiential therapies (e.g. equine-assisted therapy, mindfulness, surfing, music, art, drama, fitness, yoga and more). Teens participate in individual/family therapy at least five times a week, psychiatry sessions once a week, and daily groups on DBT Skills, Anger Management, Seeking Safety, and Relapse Prevention. Outpatient (Level 1) and intensive outpatient (Level 2) services vary in intensity and duration. Generally clients who attend outpatient treatment attend individual sessions once a week and group session 1-3 times per week, whereas individuals who attend intensive outpatient treatment see a counselor for a weekly individual session and attend group 3-4 evenings per week. Each treatment program is designed to help individuals develop the structure and tools necessary to begin recovery from their substance use disorder. Ecker Center employs an integrative approach, utilizing evidence-based therapy practices that include Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Seeking Safety, Matrix Model, Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Contingency Management. For many clients who are dealing with a primary mental health/mental illness, we approach their treatment focused on their co-occurring disorders and focus on both issues concurrently. We are approved to provide treatment to clients who are involved in the Court systems in Cook, DuPage, Kane and McHenry Counties. Our women's program also has childcare for women in treatment.
