"NorthStar Transitions is a licensed and accredited 90 day transitional drug and alcohol treatment program serving young adult men and women 18-30 years old. NorthStar clients live in high-end sober living homes in the heart of Boulder, Colorado where they are offered private bedrooms, a weekly food budget and gym membership. Clients participate in day treatment and/or intensive outpatient (IOP) throughout their 12 week stay in the program. Day treatment typically lasts the first 2-4 weeks and is a combination of group therapy, individual therapy and psychiatric care 5 days per week. After completing day treatment, clients can transition to either the daytime or evening IOP group which meets Mon, Wed and Thur from either 9:30am-12:30pm or from 5:30pm-8:30pm. Clients are encouraged to work or be in school while participating in IOP. Clients in NorthStar's drug and alcohol treatment program are breathalyzed twice daily and given urine drug screens 2-3 times per week to ensure sobriety.
