At Glenwood Behavioral Health Hospital, our continuum of care includes an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for adolescents ages 13-17 who are suffering from anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, hallucinations, mood swings, self-harm, suicidal/homicidal ideation, and other concerns. Patients may enter the IOP directly or after completing a higher level of care, such as inpatient treatment. Program duration is determined on a case-by-case basis, with the average stay lasting from four to six weeks. Patients attend treatment Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday of each week for three hours a day. The flexible schedule of our IOP allows patients to continue attending school and participating in other daily living activities while also receiving the focused care they need. For those who are unable to take part in in-person treatment or can benefit from virtual services, we offer telehealth options. Youths in the inpatient program receive intensive services in a safe and supervised setting. Our goal is to help them stabilize and regain a sense of well-being so that they can make progress toward healing. Generally, adolescents remain in the program for four to seven days, depending on the severity of their symptoms. During this time, our multidisciplinary team provides 24/7 monitoring and emotional support while guiding each patient through transformative programming. Our staff has extensive experience working with young people and a shared goal of providing age-appropriate treatment that can help each patient get on the path to better health. Adolescents in this program receive care according to their needs. Treatment plans may include medical care, medication management services, individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy.
