Trauma has touched their lives in such a way that many have a hard time getting to the root of the problem and learning to express their overwhelming emotions in a healthy manner. Typically our students are bright and capable in school, but emotional disturbances prevent them from being successful in the classroom and in relationships with peers. Oftentimes this leads to them avoiding school and in-person social interaction, opting instead to immerse themselves in the online world of social media and gaming. Our students tend to implode rather than explode, and self-harm and suicidal thoughts, gestures, and attempts may become ways they have coped with their pain. Havenwood Academy, a long-term residential treatment center in Southern Utah, specializes in treating young women who are struggling with complex trauma and attachment related issues. We work with (assigned female at birth) children from age 12 to 18 and often work with adoptive families.

We use innovative and personalized approaches for IOP/PHP Substance/Trauma clients! We are a one-stop-shop clinic with all services under the same roof such as psychiatry, psychotherapy, ketamine assisted psychotherapy, MAT, Spravato. We coordinate all services in the best interest of each client before, during and after the IOP program for additional support and continuation of the care.
