Welcome to Symmetry Counseling. We are a group of over 25 mental health professionals located in Chicago Loop specializing in counseling, psychotherapy, and coaching for individuals, couples, and families. We chose the name Symmetry because the word evokes our goal to assist you in developing an ability to remain balanced and resilient under the forces of change.

Back2Basics is a long-term substance abuse and alcohol treatment program for young adult males, ages 18 to 30. Our addiction treatment supports struggling young men in a safe, stable rehab community.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) has a high, research-proven success rate for adolescents with depression, anxiety, high emotional sensitivity, self-harming behaviors, and/or suicidal ideation. Our Comprehensive DBT treatment program is suited for teens ages 12-17 who struggle with these and other mental health, behavioral, and/or substance abuse issues. Evolve is one of the only treatment centers in the country that offers a Comprehensive DBT residential program for teens. We incorporate all four Comprehensive-DBT requirements: individual & family therapy, 24/7 in-the-moment skills coaching, skills training groups, and weekly consultation team. Teens learn the four core skills of DBT: Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Interpersonal Effectiveness, and Distress Tolerance. Adolescents also benefit from weekly psychiatric supervision, daily academic support, and daily experiential therapies including equine, surf, drama, music, art, yoga and more. At Evolve Vanalden, we don’t just learn DBT—we live it. Whether during breakfast, group, downtime, or a midnight crisis, our therapists and residential counselors help our teens practice DBT skills at all hours of the day and night.

We created Resilience Rising in 2019 as an intentional alternative to other group therapy practices. Turning away from the focus of “what is wrong with you” to what happened to you, and most importantly what is right with you. Every human is born with the intrinsic ability to be resilient; it is there waiting and wanting to be discovered. We have become therapists because we know the immense power and healing that can happen in session. Our therapists are authentic, relational, and direct in efforts to promote the change you want in your life.

Zak’s House is dedicated to providing addiction treatment, rehab, detox, and sober living to patients and assist families, restore health and well-being as well as bring hope to their lives. The goal is to empower persons served by Zak’s House to end their use of alcohol and other drugs. Most students that attend Alpine Academy experience severe anxiety and/or depression. This impedes their ability to function successfully at home, in school, and with friends. Trauma has touched their lives in such a way that many have a hard time getting to the root of the problem and learning to express their overwhelming emotions in a healthy manner. Typically our students are bright and capable in school, but emotional disturbances prevent them from being successful in the classroom and in relationships with peers. Oftentimes this leads to them avoiding school and in-person social interaction, opting instead to immerse themselves in the online world of social media and gaming. Our students tend to implode rather than explode, and self-harm and suicidal thoughts, gestures, and attempts may become ways they have coped with their pain. Generally, Alpine students have a strong desire to be able to return to the hobbies, interests, and activities that they used to enjoy doing.

At Evolve, we provide the highest caliber of evidence-based treatment for teens aged 12-17 struggling with dual diagnosis, depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, ADHD, self-harming or high-risk behaviors, suicidality, and other mental health/behavioral issues. Our emphasis on safety and individualized attention are reasons why so many families from all over the country choose Evolve. Our primary therapeutic modalities include Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Teens participate in individual and family therapy at least 5 times a week, weekly psychiatry sessions, and daily groups (on DBT Skills Training, Anger Management, Seeking Safety, and Relapse Prevention), as well as learning coping skills and participating in daily academics. For families from out-of-state, we conduct family therapy remotely. We offer daily experiential activities proven to support recovery (e.g. equine therapy, surf, art, drama, music, yoga, etc.) and 12-Step/SMART Recovery programs for those struggling with dual diagnoses. We offer gender-affirming care for LGBTQ+ and transgender teens.

Integrated Interventions is a Young Adult Therapeutic Program located in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and New Braunfels, Texas. We are a community-based program where our students learn independent living skills through the support of our team of mentors. Our therapeutic support system provides the essential social and life skills required to become productive members of your family and community. We provide custom-fit treatment that allows us to serve a wide spectrum of individuals and we offer support for individuals with diagnoses including, behavioral, cognitive, medical, addiction, and educational challenges. We provide 24/7 support, life skill development, work-ethic training, career and educational support and so much more. Integrated believes in providing custom programming and support systems designed for everyone on a totally individualized basis.

Founded in 2015, Sanford Behavioral Health is licensed and accredited as a substance use disorder, eating disorder, and co-occurring mental health treatment facility, serving Michigan and beyond. Sanford House at Cherry Street is a full continuum addiction treatment center for adult women 18 years and older. Sanford is led by a growing team of medical, clinical, and support personnel providing medication-assisted, evidenced-based treatment to residential, outpatient, and telehealth patients. We offer adult female-gendered individuals an intimate, homelike, and decidedly non-institutional environment to heal. Residents live onsite while they attend group, individual, and family therapy sessions, receive medical and psychiatric check-ups and participate in wellness activities.
