Our continuing care program provides ongoing support through virtual sessions, and our robust Alumni department keeps former clients connected through online and in-person events and support groups. Whether an adolescent needs a higher level of care, is stepping down from residential care and needs continued structure and community in our Partial Hospitalization Program, or needs several days per week of after-school support through our outpatient services option, our range of programming meets each young person and family where they are.

STAR Guides is an outdoor therapeutic program designed for youth and young adults who are struggling with problematic sexual behavior. STAR Guides provides families with navigation through these challenges. Regardless of past behaviors, we believe that all youth can learn to achieve healthy sexuality. Research suggests that for many, sexual problematic behavior first begins during the adolescent years. STAR Guides helps youth to deal with these problems while they are still young. Many youth in today's modern world find themselves lost and in need of direction as they attempt to navigate the thick darkness that accompanies sexual behavior problems. Just as the ancient peoples of the world, they are in need of STAR Guides. Based in beautiful St. George, Utah the program provides teens and young adults with a high impact, life-changing therapeutic wilderness experience in the heart of the majestic red rock of the high desert of Southern Utah. Sunrise is a group of residential treatment centers for adolescent and teen girls in Utah. Teenage girls come to Sunrise to find healing as they learn to regulate their emotions and successfully manage daily life tasks with increased independence – all while continuing their education. Sunrise’s treatment programs are strength-based, working closely with each student to develop strengths and harness her gifts, passions, and talents. Their vision is for every Sunrise girl to have a life of emotional balance and independence.

Detox is the process of getting the drugs or alcohol out of the system and treating any uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms that may occur. The amount of time a client remains in our detox varies on a number of factors. These includes the severity of the dependency or addiction, what amounts of certain drugs are in the system, the type of drug and how long it takes to get medically stabilized. Medical detoxification involves administering and prescribing a series of medications to help minimize withdrawal and cravings, and constant assessment from medical professionals.

Desert Solace is an addiction recovery program located in St. George, Utah, designed to help those struggling with pornography addiction or other sexual addictions. But honestly, it’s so much more than therapy. At Desert Solace, we show people how to live a healthy, balanced life that leads naturally to sobriety from addiction. Desert Solace started out as an inpatient program for those dealing with compulsive sexual behaviors, but we are expanding into outpatient recovery to offer more services to more people in the St. George, Utah area. Initially, these services will consist of individual and group therapy, betrayal trauma therapy, general addiction education and equine assisted therapy, but eventually we plan on offering more focused therapy services like women’s retreats, couples retreats, 3 and 5 day intensive recovery programs and experiential training.

Most students that attend Alpine Academy experience severe anxiety and/or depression. This impedes their ability to function successfully at home, in school, and with friends. Trauma has touched their lives in such a way that many have a hard time getting to the root of the problem and learning to express their overwhelming emotions in a healthy manner. Typically our students are bright and capable in school, but emotional disturbances prevent them from being successful in the classroom and in relationships with peers. Oftentimes this leads to them avoiding school and in-person social interaction, opting instead to immerse themselves in the online world of social media and gaming. Our students tend to implode rather than explode, and self-harm and suicidal thoughts, gestures, and attempts may become ways they have coped with their pain. Generally, Alpine students have a strong desire to be able to return to the hobbies, interests, and activities that they used to enjoy doing.

Seven Stars helps boys and girls, ages 13 through 18, struggling with neurodevelopmental issues including autism and aspergers, executive function deficits (ADHD/ADD) and learning disorders (language-based, verbal and nonverbal). These neurodevelopmental issues, such as autism and aspergers, are thought to be a primary cause of emotional and behavioral disturbance and presenting issues. Examples of issues that students struggle with include developmental immaturity, academic difficulties, social difficulties, technology addiction or overuse, rigidity, and executive function deficits. The families we work with are seeking assessments and treatment for theses issues and challenges.

Medication-assisted treatment, or MAT, is a dynamic approach that incorporates prescription medication and counseling to help adults whose lives have been disrupted by opioid addiction. Decades of research has documented both the safety and effectiveness of MAT. The medication component of MAT can make it easier for people to stop using opioids without experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms. This is a significant benefit, as the distress of opioid withdrawal can make it quite difficult for someone to end their opioid use on their own. Another benefit of MAT is that the length of time people use medications can be adapted according to their needs and preferences. Some MAT patients take medication for a relatively brief period of time, while others continue to do so for several months or even years. In addition to taking medication, MAT patients also take part in counseling sessions. Counseling can help adults address the psychological, social, and behavioral aspects of opioid addiction and recovery. During counseling sessions, adults can gain valuable insights about addiction and begin to make the lifestyle changes that can empower them to achieve long-term recovery.

PHP Treatment at Recovery Ways offers the most structure and care in the outpatient setting. We provide substance abuse and mental health services in the context of our treatment environment. Our skilled and dedicated clinicians create structured and caring environment. Patients are able to attend treatment during the day and then return home in the evenings to practice the skills they are learning. Treatment includes a variety of evidence-based services that build on strengths and address problems associated with the complex conditions of each individual and their family. We provide support to patients and families and help develop a plan for time off campus. We work as a team with patients and families to provide support during PHP Treatment and a plan for time off campus to maintain sobriety. During PHP Treatment, patients engage in groups based on CBT, DBT, Sensory Integration, Recreational Therapy, individual, group and family therapy. Patients build skills in areas such as relapse prevention, life skills, spiritual well-being, healthy boundaries, communication, managing grief and trauma, coping skills to manage difficult emotions, mindfulness and meditation, etc.
