Sandstone Care provides substance use, addiction, and mental health treatment for adolescents (ages 13 to 18) and young adults (ages 18 to 30) including Residential Treatment, Day Treatment (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and General Outpatient (OP) programming.

Top of the World Ranch is holistic, individualized set upon a private 315-acre property. Our program treats chemical addictions (alcohol and drugs) as well as process addictions such as gambling, sex, pornography, food, gaming, phone addiction and other dependencies that stand alone or accompany the chemical addictions. Our program also recognizes and treats co-occurring mental disorders that often accompany addictions such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other mental afflictions. Our holistic program is focused on creating a healthy, balanced lifestyle, in conjunction with the most innovative and researched based therapeutic techniques currently available in addiction treatment. We assist our clients in reconnecting to themselves after having been lost to their addictions. The beauty of our physical location and the wooded surroundings are used to help them regain their mental and physical health by reconnecting with nature. Exploring our many trails, kayaking on our lake etc. are valuable tools as we feel reconnecting with nature is an integral part of rekindling their spirituality. Our program is not 12-step based but recognize and support the importance of developing a relationship with the 12-step community. In addition, we offer mindfulness, an on-site sweat lodge, yoga and other means to support each clients spirituality.

The Ascension Center for Mental Health (formerly Alexian Brothers) in Arlington Heights, offers an array of outpatient services.Individual therapy is available for children, adolescents and adults, including couples and family therapy. Other services include medication management with a psychiatrist, case management services, vocational rehabilitation, supported education and transitional and supportive living arrangements. In addition, for those whose symptoms are increasing, we offer an alternative to an in-patient hospitalization. Our Partial Hospitalization Program/Intensive Outpatient Program consists of a small group program daily from 9-3 for approximately three weeks, individual therapy and medication evaluation and monitoring. We focus on personalized treatment, which includes completing comprehensive diagnostic testing, developing a treatment plan tailored to the needs of each client, and closely monitoring progress. We believe in a collaborative and family focused approach towards treatment with all family members playing an integral role in the treatment process. We focus on identifying and treating the core mental or emotional health issues that impact teens and their families. While the focus is on the underlying mental and emotional health issues, we treat teenagers who struggle with substance abuse, trauma, grief, self harm, eating disorders, personality disorders as well as other behavioral, mental and/or emotional health issues.

Our Residential Treatment Center is now open, with 21 residential beds for adults 18 and over in our all new overnight facility in Northbrook. Our model will be the exact same, integrated, and comprehensive with a laser like focus on treating those who struggle with complex co-occurring eating disorders, substance use disorder, process addictions, mood disorders and related trauma. Residential level of care is for those who need 24/7 support. Patients enter residential treatment voluntarily and generally step up from IOP or PHP or down from in patient hospitalization.

Evolve’s residential treatment center offers compassionate, evidence-based treatment to adolescents ages 12-17 struggling with mental health, substance use, and/or behavioral issues. Many of our teens have been diagnosed with depression, anxiety, trauma, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, ADHD, conduct disorder, self-harming or high-risk behaviors, and suicidal ideation. Our handpicked treatment team consists of board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrists, licensed therapists, on-site nurses, Master’s-level residential counselors and 24-hour support staff. We utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) integrated with experiential therapies (e.g. equine-assisted therapy, mindfulness, surfing, music, art, drama, fitness, yoga and more). Teens participate in individual/family therapy at least five times a week, psychiatry sessions once a week, and daily groups on DBT Skills, Anger Management, Seeking Safety, and Relapse Prevention. For out-of-state families, we conduct family therapy sessions via HIPAA-compliant video conference. We also provide daily academic support to help your adolescent stay on track with school.
