Rather than an afterthought, as it is in many treatment programs, Newport Academy’s educational program is an essential aspect of our clinical model. Our educational program is fully accredited and provides enhanced tutoring within a therapeutic environment, with individualized educational plans. When teens return to their home school after completing treatment with us, they bring with them concrete study and organizational skills along with enhanced engagement. Our specialized curriculum is designed to close proficiency gaps and help students grow their strengths, while building executive functioning, time management, and motivation. Newport’s educational program also offers credit recovery options for students who have failed classes or missed pertinent instruction as a result of their mental health. We ensure that students stay on track with their education and their college and career goals while receiving the compassionate and comprehensive treatment they need to achieve long-term healing.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based treatment proven to help teens struggling with emotion dysregulation, self-harming behavior, suicidal ideation, and other mental health issues. Evolve’s Comprehensive DBT residential treatment center is the first of its kind in California and one of only a handful in the entire country. Many of our teens struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma, borderline personality disorder, addiction or other high-acuity issues. We offer individual therapy (at least 3 times a week), family therapy (2 times a week, with out-of-state families participating remotely), DBT Skills Training Groups (4 times a week), and skills-coaching (24/7). Teens learn how to practice Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Distress Tolerance, and Interpersonal Effectiveness within a warm, accepting environment. We have one of the highest staff:patient ratios in the nation, serving only six teens at any given time. Our adherence to Comprehensive DBT protocols, trained DBT clinicians, and deep commitment to safety are reasons why thousands of families from all over the country choose Evolve’s DBT treatment center for their teens.  

Evolve Treatment Centers specializes in teens ages 12-17 struggling with dual diagnosis, high-risk/self-harm behaviors, suicidal ideation, and other mental health, substance abuse, or behavioral issues. At Evolve Danville, teens live on-site in a comfortable home for an average of 30-60 days and receive round-the-clock support and treatment. We incorporate multiple evidence-based practices including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Teens participate in individual/family therapy, psychiatry sessions, and daily therapy groups such as DBT Skills Training, Seeking Safety, Relapse Prevention, & Anger Management. For families from out-of-state, we offer family therapy via HIPAA-compliant video conference. Each teen receives an individualized recovery plan that is custom-designed to meet their therapeutic needs, encourage personal growth, and lay the foundation for lifelong recovery. We also integrate daily academic support and experiential therapies (e.g. equine, art, drama, fitness, boxing, cooking, and yoga) into our structured daily schedule.
