Located in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Erlanger Behavioral Health Hospital provides an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for adults age 18 and older who are struggling with mental health disorders. This program is designed to help people who have developed anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and other mental health concerns, as well as those who have become addicted to alcohol or another drug. We make all admissions decisions on an individual basis, but in general, our IOP serves people who can benefit from structured clinical care but do not require round-the-clock support. This means that adults may step down to our IOP after completing an inpatient or residential program, or they may enter treatment with us directly at the IOP level. Flexible scheduling is one of the many features of our IOP. We offer three hours of care each day, with participants having the option of attending treatment three to five days per week. This approach allows people to learn new skills during treatment and practice them in a real-world environment during nontreatment hours. They can then process their experiences and receive feedback during their next session.

We do not provide care to individuals whose primary current problem is substance use disorder. There are many other options for their care. IOP provides intensive therapy 3 hours per day, 3 days per week. Group therapy is the foundation of IOP. Group has been well established an an effective treatment approach for 80 years. The interpersonal experience of group is supplemented and enriched with instructional material. psychiatric education and a variety of evidenced based approaches. Most clients continue their regular individual therapy schedule with in IOP. Enrollment is not determined by a diagnosis but rather by how problems are interfering in your life. We offer in person treatment in Chattanooga, TN. We currently offer afternoon groups (1-4pm) on Monday, Wednesday, Friday.
