After almost 17 years of healing in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, we have made the decision to close New Vision (NVW). The last couple of years have been very trying on us and the field at large. As the behavioral health market grows and evolves, new more accessible programs have become families’ choice for treatment. It has become increasingly difficult to operate going forward. As responsible stewards of mental health treatment, challenging decisions needed to be made. This is an emotional announcement for us to share after serving thousands of families. Located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 10th Street Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) provides medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for adults age 18 and older who are struggling with opioid use disorder. MAT is a form of outpatient treatment that can help those who have an addiction to heroin, prescription painkillers, or other opioids. Outpatient treatment programs like MAT are flexible and convenient, so adults can get the treatment they need while still working, going to school, or fulfilling other obligations. The medication used in MAT can alleviate the severity of withdrawal symptoms, including cravings, which decreases a person’s chances of using illicit drugs again, getting into legal trouble, or contracting infectious diseases. Along with the use of medication, MAT includes individual and group counseling sessions. This therapeutic component allows adults to address any underlying mental health disorder symptoms or behavioral concerns that may be contributing to their use of opioids. At 10th Street CTC, our goal is to provide treatment that combines medication and counseling to help adults achieve long-term recovery.

Calo Programs offers residential treatment for adolescents and teens that is uniquely focused and specially equipped to treat students and families impacted by traumatic experiences which occurred in the developmental period, such as adoption, chronic stress, and inconsistent care from caregivers. These adolescents struggle to be in healthy relationship with family and peers, experience emotional dysregulation, and often fail to maintain safe behavior in school or at home. With a foundational focus on safety and creating repetitive experiences of co-regulation through relationship, our students begin the journey towards developing a healthy sense of self. This enables them to engage with the resources and relationships that they have previously rejected.

We provide a full continuum of care at locations around the country, including residential treatment centers; a full suite of outpatient programming, with Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), and outpatient services with a flexible number of days per week; telehealth; and alumni programming.
