Harmony Place Monterey is a transitional living treatment center on the Central Coast of California. It's a one-of-a-kind outpatient alternative to residential care, featuring an intensive, three hours a day Outpatient Program or as a six hours a day Partial Hospitalization Program. Specialized Treatment for Those Who Suffer from Chronic Relapse It's not about just ridding yourself of the problematic symptom, the addictive behavior itself. What's at the root of the issue? An addiction is in place for a reason. Without getting to the WHY the addiction developed in the first place, relapse is bound to continue to occur. We Do Much More than Stop an Addictive Behavior The addiction, until understood in depth, serves a vital purpose of some kind; that purpose cannot be underestimated or overlooked. Removing an addictive behavior without comprehending what it's compensating for leads to an incomplete treatment program and the great potential for chronic relapse. Our treatment approaches address and relieve addictive behaviors and their origins, including intimacy problems and early attachment wounding often associated with eating disorders, chemical dependency, co-dependency, sexual and relational difficulties, and chronic relapse. Our in-depth therapies dig to the bottom of onerous issues that can continue to sabotage recovery and long-term success. Dr. Mark Schwartz and Lori Galperin, MSW, LCSW direct the Harmony Place Monterey team of specialists. With more than 30 years of experience, they have each worked with hundreds of individuals and couples to heal from deep, often long-lasting issues. These nationally recognized leaders have lectured to more than 50,000 world wide professionals and have directed five residential and inpatient treatment programs in cities across the United States, including St. Louis, Missouri; New Orleans, Louisiana; Los Angeles, CA; and Kansas City, Kansas. Both Dr. Schwartz and Ms. Galperin work with each of the intensive outpatient clients daily.
