Benefits of Medication-Assisted Treatment
Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) combines the use of prescription medication and counseling sessions to treat opioid addiction. At Belmont Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC), we believe in the effectiveness of MAT in helping people achieve recovery, and we offer this service for adults age 18 and older who are battling addictions to opioids. MAT addresses both the physical and psychological elements of addiction and has proved to yield positive results and long-term recovery. Prescription medication can help keep you comfortable during withdrawal by alleviating symptoms, while therapy sessions can provide an outlet for you to explore underlying reasons for addiction. Your level of commitment to your own personal growth and recovery is an important aspect that we encourage you to consider during your time in treatment. We believe that the more you invest in your journey to recovery, the more you can gain from our treatment services. We encourage our patients to make the most of their time at our treatment center by being present and engaged during conversations with clinicians.
What to Expect
Our team is committed to helping you set and achieve goals for treatment. We understand that each patient’s life experience is different, and we believe that treatment plans should be equally unique. Our highly trained professionals use a person-centered approach to delivering care by customizing treatment plans to best suit the individual needs of our patients. Prior to admission, you will be asked to complete an assessment that will help our team determine which medication may be of most benefit to you. Unlike traditional methadone clinics that provide just one type of medication, Belmont CTC offers several options, including naltrexone, methadone, buprenorphine, and Suboxone. Clinicians will carefully select the type and dosage for you, adjusting as needed to make sure that they are working effectively. We will do our best to remain a reliable source of support for you during treatment and can answer any questions and address any concerns you may have along the way.
Our Comprehensive Treatment Center
Located in Portland, Oregon, Belmont CTC employs a team made up of compassionate professionals who are dedicated to the medical and emotional well-being of our patients. You can engage with our counselors one-on-one in individual therapy and in group therapy through larger, peer discussions. Both sessions can provide opportunities for you to establish a strong support system and learn coping skills that can help prevent future relapse. Group sessions can give you a chance to interact with other adults who have similar backgrounds while also providing an opportunity to share your own story. We believe that building bonds with peers is an invaluable aspect of opioid addiction treatment. Throughout your time at Belmont CTC, we hope to help you discover that you are not alone on your journey to recovery.
