I offer a holistic approach to outpatient counseling to both children and adults with an emphasis on problem-solving and searching together for solutions that support life success and positive personal development. I work together with you to help you to overcome depression, anxiety, and trauma toward a happy and fulfilling life, using cognitive behavioral therapy, existential and humanistic counseling, and practical, social work-based approaches.
I teach a variety of stress-reduction techniques and have experience with a number of spiritual and religious philosophies and mindfulness techniques. The goal is to provide ideas, insights, and techniques that work for you, and fit with your personality and world view.
With children and teenagers, I work with both the child and one or more family members to enhance mental health and life outcomes through improvements to family life and to the school experience. When needed I coach families on advocacy to help children get needed services from the school system.
