Residential Treatment
At Acadiana Treatment Center, located in Sunset, Louisiana, a short drive from Lafayette, we provide clinically excellent residential care for young women ages 12-17 who are struggling with mental health concerns and co-occurring addictions. We believe that because adolescents are going through developmental changes, they need age-specific services to achieve the most optimal outcomes. In our residential treatment program, we tailor each girl’s care to help them heal. Our team gathers information about each client’s background, symptoms, and therapeutic goals so that we can design a personalized treatment plan for them. We understand that healing is a process, and we want to meet each young woman where they are on their journey. To do this, we spend time getting to know each person we serve, and we listen to each client’s input as we work together. The typical length of stay in our residential program is between three and six months, though the exact duration of care depends on the client’s progress and needs. Treatment Approach
Our goal is to help adolescent girls develop the skills they need to return to their homes and schools and thrive. To support each client in achieving their therapeutic goals, our team of professionals designs a customized treatment plan for them. This plan is based on details we gather about their health, symptoms, and substance use. Depending on their needs, a client’s treatment plan at Acadiana can include individual, family, and group therapy sessions. For clients who are struggling with substance use disorders, we incorporate principles of the 12-Step model into our programming. Our therapies include evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), which can help our clients learn useful coping strategies. Additionally, we provide experiential therapies like art and recreational therapies. In counseling sessions, clients can learn about topics that are developmentally appropriate for their age group, such as emotion regulation, life skills, and family dynamics. Our Treatment Center
At Acadiana Treatment Center, adolescent girls can receive care in a homelike setting designed to create a sense of comfort and safety. Our multidisciplinary team of medical and behavioral health professionals includes psychiatrists, psychologists, registered nurses, and therapists. Our clients can benefit from the combined experience and compassion of these professionals, who specialize in working with young people. Our treatment center features designated spaces for education and recreation. We have a family building where we provide academic courses for the young people we serve. Clients at our center can participate in activities such as basketball, volleyball, crafts, and fishing. We also have social clubs that hold events such as dances, movie nights, and birthday celebrations. We work to create an environment that encourages our young clients to heal and grow, whether it’s through therapy sessions, educational programming, or extracurricular activities.
