Clients also didn’t view many of their past events such as accidents, divorce, injuries, medical issues, jail, etc. as traumatic events. They simply thought a traumatic event was abuse and war. The common misconception of clients and families is blaming current mental health symptoms or current events as the cause of the addictions. This couldn’t be further from the truth. We have never treated anyone where the current symptoms or problems were the causal factor for their addictions. In fact, this misconception of current mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, impulsiveness, anger, etc. being the cause often leads therapists to just “Chase Symptoms” and miss the core issues.

BasePoint Academy is an Outpatient Program that provides behavioral health and substance use treatment for adolescents ages 11-18 years old. At BasePoint we provide 2 levels of care: Partial Hospitalization Program and Intensive Outpatient in a safe space where teens can build trust with our team while finding their purpose, learning healthy boundaries and coping skills, and practicing these skills with their peers, while also addressing academics with our Education Counselor. This unique approach allows teens to build these skills during the day, while being able to return to the comfort of their home in the evening. In addition to their adolescent program, BasePoint Academy provides a track specialized in emerging adults struggling with mental health or substance use, serving ages 18-30.

Greenhouse Outpatient Center’s outpatient rehab program is located in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area. Our standard outpatient addiction treatment program is more flexible and less intensive than the partial hospitalization rehab programs and intensive outpatient rehab programs. Our clients play an important role in decisions about their treatment and collaborate with their treatment provider(s) to determine treatment objectives that are realistic. Clients participate in comprehensive clinical treatment without having to leave home for an inpatient facility. We offer both day and evening Intensive Outpatient Programs. Individual Counseling sessions allow clients to work on an intimate level with their therapists addressing recovery related topics.
