Treatment Centers in Ontario (ON)

Ottawa Mindfulness Clinic, Treatment Facility in Ottawa
“Dr. Lynette Monteiro: My primary work is through the Ottawa Mindfulness Clinic M4 Programs which I co-founded in 2003; I serve as Senior Teacher & Professional Training Director. The M4 (Mindfulness for) approach is designed to help you meet the challenges of life as they present themselves. We are, for the most part, healthy and capable of getting through the difficulties we encounter day by day. However, when we are depleted or stretched beyond our resources, we encounter our limitations. How we meet those limitations directs the trajectory to wellness. In the M4-Pain Management and the M4-Wellness as a Healthcare Professional, we learn together how to meet our challenges and learn from them. The M4 Program is an 8-week training in Mindfulness that incorporates a values-based framework in our practice. It is described in our book, Mindfulness Starts here: An 8-week guide to skillful living, co-authored with Dr. Frank Musten, PhD, C.Psych.

“Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the most widely-used evidence based therapy for anxiety disorders. Research has shown it to be effective in the treatment of panic disorder, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder, social anxiety disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder, among many other conditions. CBT can help you to change how you think ("Cognitive") and what you do ("Behavior"). These changes can help you to feel better. Unlike some of the other talking treatments, it focuses on the "here and now" problems and difficulties. Instead of focusing on the causes of your distress or symptoms in the past, it looks for ways to improve your state of mind now.

White River Academy, Treatment Facility in Toronto
“White River Academy is an environment that is small and family directed. Assisting your adolescent in the "change of heart" process is what will assist in making the decisions you always hoped he would. Putting others before self shifts the focus of the teen to one of "what can I do to be productive" rather than "what can others do for me". WRA individualizes academics so that each students needs are met. A high level of commitment to academics has resulted in most students seeking a college education post WRA. Many students have gone straight from WRA into a University or trade school. And some have even qualified for scholarships. You as a parent believe that your teen has potential that they arent currently living up to. We, too, believe your adolescent has the potential and we want to help them find it. Your struggling teen can and will make permanent changes within and for the better here at White River Academy. Young Adult Programs also available at our other treatment locations, call today to learn more about our Adolescent, Young Adult, and Adult programs.

Inpatient or Outpatient Treatment

INPATIENT TREATMENT: WHAT'S INVOLVED?

Residential Inpatient treatment in Ontario (ON) usually consists of 24 hour care at a live-in facility. Full treatment services, including medical and behavioral therapy are provided all at one location near Ontario (ON).

Medical supervision is generally placed over each resident. In drug treatment centers, clients can detox safely. In eating disorder centers in Ontario (ON), residential programs enable effective monitoring of the client's health during the treatment program.

Inpatient care offers a structured atmosphere and allows the client and providers to focus on physical and psychological healing.

OUTPATIENT TREATMENT: WHAT'S INVOLVED?

Outpatient treatment programs in Ontario (ON) or clinics provide flexibility to those who are unable to take time away from their regular lives, work or school. Programs typically meet at the clinic a couple of times every week for a few hours at a time.

Because clients are living away from the centers, outpatient facilities in Ontario (ON) are less able to focus on medical conditions and nutritional needs.

Certain programs provide a combination of the in/out approach: Inpatient for medical stabilization, partial hospitalization for moderate cases, intensive outpatient programs, and outpatient clinics for follow-up.
Treatment Type

INPATIENT OR OUTPATIENT: WHAT'S RIGHT FOR ME?

* How much can you afford? Generally, Ontario (ON) outpatient treatment is cheaper than inpatient treatment because housing is not provided and fewer hours of treatment (and often fewer therapy alternatives) are offered.

* Are you able to control your behaviors? Inpatient treatment provides constant supervision to offset the temptation of drugs or eating disordered behavior in the early stages of treatment.

* Follow-up support network near Ontario (ON)? If you do decide to attend inpatient treatment, look for a center that can offer you or direct you to another service where you will be provided with follow-up care after you leave in an effort to avoid relapse.

* Is your condition severe? Constant medical attention is given to those in inpatient care, which may be especially important for those with pain and eating disorders.
How Treatment Centers Can Help

ALCOHOL AND DRUG REHAB

Treatment centers in Ontario (ON) help clients with substance abuse issues, drug abuse and pain treatment. Drug detox or alcohol detox is the first step on the road to recovery from drug addiction or alcohol addiction and a clean life. After detoxing, the rehabilitation process can begin.

EATING DISORDER TREATMENT

Eating Disorder treatment centers in Ontario (ON) help treat a range of problem eating and food issues such as childhood feeding disorders, food avoidance, obesity, Anorexia, Bulimia or compulsive overeating, binge eating, night eating and body image issues. They address the destructive behaviors and underlying emotional issues of disordered eating. Their programs can include family involvement and are designed to help patients in Ontario (ON) develop the skills they need to make lifelong change. Programs incorporate dietary counseling and nutritional education and may be supervised by a therapist, medical director, nurse and dietitian.
