“The term dual diagnosis, or co-occurring, refers to individuals who experience more than one mental health or substance abuse disorder at a time. While most often a dual diagnosis will include a mental health disorder and a substance abuse problem, that is not always the case. Sometimes an individual can be struggling with multiple mental health issues. The need for expert care by professionals trained to provide services for both types of disorders is paramount for recovery and healing. At Delta, our experienced staff recognizes the complexity involved in treating those with a dual diagnosis and have a history of successfully working with individuals with this complicated condition.

“Heroin is a powerful semi-synthetic opiate derived from an Asian poppy plant. Heroin is used on the streets as a recreational drug because it creates the feelings of well-being and joy in the user. People who abuse heroin report feeling an intense rush and an overwhelming feeling of euphoria while the drug is being metabolized into morphine in the brain. Chronic use of heroin will change the structure and functioning of the brain, leading to tolerance and dependence. Physical heroin dependence is demonstrated by the need to continue using the drug to avoid unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. Psychological dependence occurs when an individual firmly believes that he or she cannot function without heroin. Heroin addiction and abuse can lead to devastating personal consequences in nearly every aspect of a user's life. Heroin addicts may end up losing all of their friends and family members, slowly becoming more withdrawn and isolated. They may have lost their job due to poor performance or may have been kicked out of school. Additionally, addict's face a number of major medical problems that will only get worse over time as the abuse continues.

“The Highlands Eating Disorder Treatment Center is one of the most highly regarded facilities in the Southeast. We provide expert care to clients with all types of eating disorders, including clients with the most complex and difficult to manage problems. Our facility is open to both men and women, ages 16 and above. Our experienced clinicians use a three-armed therapy approach, with medical, therapeutic, and nutritional treatment supporting the recovery process. Research shows that this multi-faceted approach is the most effective means of treatment for someone with an eating disorder. Unfortunately, some treatment centers focus on only one or two of these areas, leading to a relapse. The Highlands philosophy is to provide fully customized care, integrating the medical, therapeutic, and nutritional needs of each client in a dynamic and ongoing process.
“BTG uses a phased approach, with gradually increasing levels of freedom and responsibility. We do this by transitioning our clients through our different levels of care. Our clients are not just taught basic recovery tools, but must begin using them from the beginning, and increasingly so as they progress through the phases of their program. This treatment philosophy is obviously more evident in our residential program, but still plays a subtle role in our out-patient programs as well. If your client has already had some substance abuse treatment, you may be interested to know that our transitional phased approach is self-paced rather than time-dependent. We will work with other treatment providers to maintain a continuum of care based on the client's status in the different dimensions spelled out by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), and the unresolved issues in the clients' original treatment plan. Therefore, a client coming to BTG for long-term or follow-up care after completing a primary treatment program elsewhere, would more than likely start in Phase II or Phase III and likely progress through theses phases quicker than someone coming directly to BTG.
“We at Oliver-Pyatt Centers strive to genuinely connect with each individual, to address the core issues driving the eating disorder, and to provide the tools needed to live a meaningful life, free from food and weight preoccupation. Our innovative protocols are based on a thorough understanding of eating disorders and the unique experience of each person affected by one.

These treatment centers provide Intensive Outpatient Programs in Tennessee (TN) and involve intensive outpatient treatment.
The intensive outpatient treatment program Tennessee (TN) aids those in the early phases of sobriety and recovery from substance abuse. It is a program designed to help individuals develop the insight and skills necessary to be abstinent from drugs and/or alcohol.
Intensive Outpatient Treatment (also known as IOP for "Intensive Outpatient Program") is a primary treatment program recommended in some circumstances by a clinical and medical assessment. With the Intensive Outpatient Treatment program you are able to establish a foundation for long term recovery support in your local community right from the start of your treatment, instead of waiting until you return from living away in a rehab center.
In the Intensive Outpatient Program, you continue your life with support from the local clinical, emotional and peer support systems provided by the IOP.
Inpatient or Outpatient Treatment
INPATIENT TREATMENT: WHAT'S INVOLVED?
Residential Inpatient treatment in Tennessee (TN) usually consists of 24 hour care at a live-in facility. Full treatment services, including medical and behavioral therapy are provided all at one location near Tennessee (TN).
Medical supervision is generally placed over each resident. In drug treatment centers, clients can detox safely. In eating disorder centers in Tennessee (TN), residential programs enable effective monitoring of the client's health during the treatment program.
Inpatient care offers a structured atmosphere and allows the client and providers to focus on physical and psychological healing.
OUTPATIENT TREATMENT: WHAT'S INVOLVED?
Outpatient treatment programs in Tennessee (TN) or clinics provide flexibility to those who are unable to take time away from their regular lives, work or school. Programs typically meet at the clinic a couple of times every week for a few hours at a time.
Because clients are living away from the centers, outpatient facilities in Tennessee (TN) are less able to focus on medical conditions and nutritional needs.
Certain programs provide a combination of the in/out approach: Inpatient for medical stabilization, partial hospitalization for moderate cases, intensive outpatient programs, and outpatient clinics for follow-up.
