Our areas of specialization include trauma, significant life changes, sex and relationship concerns, anxiety and depression, and working with creative people who want to explore growth and healing beyond talking to connect to other parts of yourself.
Not just your traditional psychotherapy and counseling. Talk, draw, sing, scream, leap, or find stillness. All are welcome here. The creative arts therapies are modalities of psychotherapy that use art, dance, music or drama as the way to access, clarify, and express thoughts, ideas and emotions. Use your creative process to find new perspectives and skills to support growth and healing. Many times different parts of ourselves need nurturing and support. Although we are all trained in traditional counseling and talk therapy, we are a team of therapists that offer you so much more! Our range of services - dance/movement therapy, art therapy, psychotherapy, music therapy, and drama therapy - aim to help you find the right balance to meet your needs.

We believe, and have evidence to support, that 70% of addiction is psychological. So we conduct our assessments with that in mind and can actually help our clients to become more at home in their lives and bodies so as to decrease the necessity to abuse substances in order to be right with the world. It works!

Since 1997, our continuum of care takes treatment out of hospitals and into real-life settings. Our evidence-based and trauma-informed treatments give our patients the coping skills and encouragement they need to navigate real-life recovery. Our team gets to the heart of why patients have a disorder—this means asking questions and providing therapies that reveal the root causes, all in a space that is filled with compassion and security. From the moment our patients step through the doors, they’ll begin developing the tools needed for everyday life after treatment.

We specialize in helping clients who have or plan to use psychedelics, ketamine, or cannabis for healing purposes. Psychedelics are proving helpful for a number of conditions, including addictions, depression, anxiety disorders, and trauma. We work with a range of clients. Some have utilized psychedelics for personal or spiritual growth in the U.S. or abroad. Others are attempting to address issues that have not responded to other treatments. Ketamine and psychedelics are not the right intervention for everyone. We can help you figure out if this is the right approach for you and we take a harm reduction approach to reduce risks and maximize the benefits. Our approach is guided by our client's goals and relies on our innate tendency toward healing and growth. In contrast to ketamine infusion clinics, which tend to take a biomedical approach, our process is anchored in the therapeutic relationship. We are with our clients for every step, from preparation and learning to navigate psychedelic experience, being present during ketamine sessions, to integration of the experience afterward.

Trauma and PTSD Treatment Centers

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
