Bridging the Gaps (BTG), an integrative residential addiction treatment facility located in historic Winchester, Virginia, provides treatment for adults suffering from the disease of addiction. Roanoke Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) offers medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for adults age 18 and older who are suffering from opioid addictions. An evidence-based approach to opioid addiction treatment, MAT combines prescription medication and counseling to help patients withdraw from opioids and sustain long-term recovery. The medications used in MAT can help relieve the distressing symptoms associated with opioid withdrawal. At the same time, the counseling component of MAT may help patients make lifestyle changes that can support lasting recovery. While many people are aware that methadone clinics offer medication to ease the withdrawal process, some might be less familiar with the full scope of personalized services a MAT program can provide. In addition to offering four medication options — methadone, Suboxone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone — our CTC provides individual and group therapies for patients. At Life Center of Hillsville, we offer a premier partial hospitalization program (PHP) for men who are in need of structured care for substance use disorders and certain co-occurring mental health concerns, like anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and posttraumatic stress disorder. Our PHP is available as either a step-down level of care from inpatient or residential treatment or as a stand-alone treatment option. While the length of programming may vary, the average length of stay in this program is 10-21 days. Patients in our PHP can take part in an array of therapeutic interventions, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, 12-Step programming, journaling, and leisure and recreational activities. At Bacon Street, we are passionate about supporting families. For almost 50 years, we have served adolescents, young people, and families who are dealing with substance abuse and mental health issues. The cornerstone of Bacon Street's programs is its outpatient clinical counseling for teens (age 12-17) and young adults (age 18-26) struggling with substance abuse or a substance use disorder, co-occurring substance use and mental health issues, or mental health issues that put them at a high risk for substance abuse. Our evidence-based, trauma-informed counseling model focuses on healing for the entire family.
