San Fernando Valley DBT is an adherent, comprehensive DBT Program serving teens and adults in the San Fernando Valley and all of California. With more than 20 years of experience, we have a team of skilled, fully trained DBT therapists who offer individual therapy, DBT Groups, couples, and family therapy. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, or DBT, is a type of behavioral therapy that helps those struggling with emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness and distress tolerance issues. While it is very effective at treating those diagnosed with borderline personality disorder (BPD), it can also be very effective at treating those with depression, anxiety, PTSD, eating disorders, substance use and a variety of other symptoms. In fact, the skills taught in the group can be effective for almost any individual. For those seeking comprehensive DBT, our program includes weekly individual DBT therapy, group therapy, phone coaching, and family consultation as needed. Individual DBT therapists participate in a weekly consultation team with other trained DBT therapists. Clients who participate in all of these components will meet the criteria for a fully treatment adherent DBT program.

We also specialize in borderline personality disorder (BPD) with clinical excellence in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). At each mental health facility, all Clearview clinicians are extensively trained in comprehensive DBT, and many are DBT-Linehan Board Certified. Clients at our residential mental health facilities engage in DBT skills training groups, individual therapy sessions, and phone coaching. Other types of therapies that we utilize at our mental health treatment centers include acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and seeking safety. The UCLA Aftercare Research Program is a joint clinical and research program located in the UCLA Department of Psychiatry specializing in the treatment of individuals with schizophrenia and related disorders who are in an early phase of their illness. For the last 40 years, our Program treatment team has been providing free services to young-adult patients, most of whom are in their late teens or early twenties (ages 18 to 45 are eligible). Our primary treatment aim is to assist patients through the tumultuous first years after the onset of psychosis, and to help treat their psychosis while getting them back on their feet again.

The first IOP we offer is an in-person group for those struggling with mental health diagnoses (Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar, PTSD, etc.). This group meets Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Each IOP meeting is split into two sessions, each one with one of our licensed psychologists

Some people do not need residential treatment but could still benefit from more intensive treatment than weekly therapy sessions or group support meetings such as Alcoholics Anonymous. This is where an intensive outpatient program works perfectly. Many of our patients find our outpatient program beneficial as a step-down treatment program after they have completed our residential program. They continue to receive the support and education they need to succeed but can live at home or in one of our sober living facilities. If you are looking to initiate treatment, it can be difficult to decide between residential or outpatient treatment. The majority of people get the most benefit from beginning with residential treatment and then moving to outpatient treatment. However, some people cannot take the time nor have the budget to enroll in a residential treatment program. In this instance, initiating treatment with an intensive outpatient program, such as the one at Pax House, will offer many of the same support mechanisms and educational tools to build a foundation for lifelong sobriety.
