Sandstone Care provides substance use and co-occurring mental health treatment for young adults (ages 18 to 30) and adolescents (ages 13 to 18) including Residential, Day Treatment (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP), and General Outpatient (OP) programming. We utilize evidence-based practices and take an integrated approach to care which is customized for the needs of each individual, addressing not only the substance use or addiction issues, but also any underlying mental health conditions (co-occurring disorders). In addition to substance abuse and co-occurring disorder treatment, we work with the whole ecosystem of an individual by providing academic & vocational support prior to every group session, weekly multi-family group sessions, weekly individual sessions, and participation in community events. Newport Academy’s Virginia location offers treatment for teens between the ages of 12-17. Our integrated approach treats the trauma and attachment wounds underlying teen mental health and behavioral issues, such as anxiety, depression, and trauma/PTSD. We address these root causes through comprehensive, solution-focused treatment that involves the entire family in the healing process. To support our teens and their families in achieving long-term, sustainable healing, our clinical model takes into account every aspect of a teen’s well-being—physical, psychological, relational, and educational so they can thrive when they return home to their families, schools, and communities. Moreover, we are dedicated to ongoing research on the efficacy of our treatment. Evolve offers evidence-based treatment to adolescents 12-17 struggling with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, self-harm or high-risk behaviors, suicidal ideation, and other mental health/behavioral issues. Our residential treatment center in Los Angeles offers a warm, accepting environment where teens can stabilize and learn practical ways to improve their emotion regulation, impulse control, and distress tolerance skills. Teens participate in individual/family therapy multiple times a week, psychiatry sessions weekly, and daily groups on DBT Skills Training, Anger Management, Relapse Prevention, and Seeking Safety. Families from out-of-state participate in family therapy remotely. Our focus is on Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy integrated with experiential therapies (equine-assisted therapy, art, surfing, music, drama, yoga, fitness, and more). We also provide daily academic support to help your child stay on track with school. All of our licensed therapists creatively blend clinically-proven methods of therapy with music to provide you with an effective, individualized, and unique rehab experience. Utilizing music in your care can act as a catalyst to gently break down barriers that you may have built up through years of addiction or alcoholism. Recovery Unplugged knows how to harness the healing power of music - our methodology has been proven to yield long-term recovery success rates 4x higher than the national average (Nova Southeastern University, 2018). You don't need to play an instrument for Recovery Unplugged to help you get sober - you just need to love music!

We work with most major insurance providers and work collaboratively with payers to optimize coverage for families. Many young adults who receive treatment from Newport Institute using insurance coverage do so through a Single Case Agreement, a special contract through which out-of-network providers can work with a family’s insurance company on an In-Network basis. Newport Institute maintains a full-time, in-house team dedicated to supporting families through the mental health insurance coverage and financing process. In order to secure sufficient insurance coverage, we will most likely need to conduct a series of clinical reviews and any requested provider-to-provider calls with the insurance company. While other facilities may charge for this service, we feel it is our responsibility to assist families with what can be a complex process. Our goal is to ensure that families receive the maximum coverage, so they can access the highest-quality treatment.
