Harvesting Hope. Promoting Recovery.
Gould Farm is a therapeutic community dedicated to helping adults with mental illness move toward recovery, health and greater independence through community living, meaningful work and individual clinical care. In a supportive community environment made up of residents, staff and their families, we help adults with depression, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder and schizophrenia begin to rebuild and regain their lives. Gould Farm offers a full continuum of care, with programs in the Berkshires and the Boston area for those ready for new challenges and structured transition. Authentic Community. Meaningful Work.
Gould Farm has been a healing community and working farm for over 100 years. Residents are welcomed into an authentic, multi-generational community made up of peers, volunteers, staff members, and their families who all live on the 700 acre property. Sharing meals, holidays, and farm traditions, community members are celebrated for their talents and appreciated for their strengths. Residents work on various work teams, caring for animals, tending the gardens, baking breads and pastries, preparing meals, or helping run a small store and cafe. As everyone works together to provide for the needs of the community, work team leaders help support residents in managing their symptoms on the job, getting grounded in the work at hand, and forming relationships with co-workers. Living in community and working on the farm help people build life and vocational skills that support a successful transition to paid work and independent living. Lifelong Recovery
The Clinical team at Gould Farm is comprised of six licensed social workers, a nurse, a nursing office manager, two consulting psychiatrists, and a Transition Counselor. Together they work with each resident to optimize their medication, integrate the therapeutic aspects of work and community into their recovery, and prepare for their transition out of residential treatment. Clinicians engage residents in individual therapy, skills groups, recovery programs, and addiction groups several times a week. Whole person healing is a priority at Gould Farm and the Clinical team also supports wellness activities that promote lifelong physical and mental health. Gould Farm offers a continuum of care in the form of supported and extended community both in the Berkshires and the Boston area. Recovery is a journey and we're all traveling that road together.
