As a therapist, I believe our lives are made up of relationships - relationship with others, with the world around us, and with ourselves. When we feel "out of whack," this is one sign that at least one of these relationships needs our attention. Therapy is an excellent avenue to examine and explore these connections. My practice is rooted in client-centered approaches. While I use cognitive behavioral, motivational, and mindfulness-based techniques - each session is tailored to meet you right where you are that day. My hope is that you feel safe and affirmed during all interactions.

Do you long for relief from anxiety and depression? Is low self-esteem holding you back? Do you feel stuck in a toxic relationship that stresses and drains you? Oftentimes we feel like it’s impossible to beat these patterns, to feel truly confident, to break free. And it impacts our daily lives in more ways than we know. These problems can make you hide, minimize, and suppress yourself. They can make you live below your full potential.

There are times in everyone's life when they feel trapped, alone, lost, and overwhelmed. Often we cope in ways that leave us feeling empty or on edge. We find ourselves repeating patterns that continue to cause problems in our relationships, our career, and keeps us from moving forward. It's at these times we need someone to sit with us in our loneliness, pain, confusion.

Is life becoming too difficult, or is stress wearing you down? You are not alone. Millions of adults in the United States are affected by anxiety and depression yearly. Have you been living with OCD going without treatment? OCD can be debilitating and difficult to manage, but you do not have to live a life burdened by these problems. As a clinical psychologist, I have specialized training in evidence-based approaches such as CBT and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) to treat anxiety, depression, stress, and exposure and response prevention, a first-line treatment for OCD.

The foundation of my counseling practice is the therapeutic alliance, rapport, and trust with my clients. My person-centered approach allows for positive changes to occur within the safety of a healthy therapeutic relationship. My role is to be genuine and authentic, to treat you with empathy unconditionally, and to provide you with a safe, nonjudgmental environment to reconnect with your authentic self. I tailor interventions to the needs of individual clients, incorporating CBT, DBT, and solution-focused work. I don't believe in “one size fits all” counseling approach, strategy, so I empower clients to chart their own course.

Life is full of challenging events, decisions, and transitions. Going to therapy does not make a person “less than,” or indicate you are incapable of dealing with challenges/issues on your own. Beginning therapy is a sign of courage and awareness that you believe positive change in your life can be achieved. I work with adult individuals helping them cope with and work through a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, drug/alcohol use, stress reduction, anger, life transitions, coping with uncertainty, increasing self-esteem, as well as developing and maintaining healthy relationships.

I provide a sacred space for helping individuals navigate through the complexities of pain, grief, and trauma in order to return to themselves. We have an abundant capacity to be whole with the right tools. I bring my whole heart to therapy with my clients. I believe we are wired for connection and healing in relationship with each other. We aren't meant to navigate pain and life's trials on our own. It's through connection with others as we move through (not around) our pain that true healing begins.

Hi there! I'm so happy you are here. Adulting is hard, full of uphill climbs and plot twists. As we take on the many challenges of daily life, moments of true joy can seem elusive. We may find ourselves feeling less content or fulfilled than we imagined. We begin to question past choices and doubt our decisions. We trudge along, hoping things will improve, without really enjoying the now. At all stages of life, we face challenges and transitions that may leave us feeling sad, anxious, exhausted, disillusioned, or isolated. And while this is normal, it can be hard to find a way through on your own. Fortunately, you don't have to.

One size does not fit all! Finding a therapist who you "vibe" with is so important when building therapeutic rapport. I work with young to middle age adults who struggle with issues related to esteem, life transitions, depression, anxiety or relationship issues. Do you need someone to listen to and validate you? Are you seeking a therapist who is engaged and interactive? Do you want to be challenged? Do you want to be able to show up to sessions 100% your authentic self? Without fear of being judged? Are you looking a provider who is compassionate, professional and non-traditional?

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
