Petoskey Center provides patients with the opportunity to experience intensive treatment without the need for inpatient or residential psychiatric hospitalization. They can continue meeting their responsibilities (as much as possible) in their communities while diving more deeply into treatment. Petoskey Center's intensive outpatient program (IOP) gives clients a safe place to: Explore the reasons behind their psychological struggles; learn and practice new skills for coping, managing, and preventing emotional crises; identify a path forward in terms of education, career, family, lifestyle; and ​practice implementing real change both in and outside the therapy environment. We are focused on mental health issues and do not work with patients struggling with addiction as their primary difficulty.

Next Step Behavioral Houston is a 24/7 residential treatment facility for Adults 18 and older with severe mental illness and co-occurring disorders. Our primary focus of care is mental illness. We provide short term (90 days or less) and long-term (life care) for our clients, which is based on their individual needs. Our client are individuals that have a history of going in and out of the hospital, have misdemeanors, and behavioral concerns.

Clients include a spectrum of mental health concerns – depression, anxiety, substance use, sexual health in recovery, psychiatric medication management, trauma, interpersonal violence, adjustment to medical problems, and others. Our primary client base is made up of members of the LGBTQ+ community but others are welcome. Many of our clients have met with stigma and discrimination when they have sought help from other providers.
