12 South Recovery’s Dual Diagnosis and Mental Health Programs offer step down levels of care beginning with Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), followed by Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and then Outpatient Programming (OP). Each phase is structured according to the needs of the individual and allows for a slight reduction in structure each time, with a gradual acclimation back to life and society, while still maintaining a strong focus on recovery.

Over time, excessive use acts in similar ways as does a drug like cocaine. Tolerance is built up, and an even greater amount of time is spent online to keep feeling good. Opal: Food + Body Wisdom is a locally owned eating disorder treatment center in the heart of Seattle's University District. We provide Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Outpatient services for people of all genders 18+ with eating disorders and disordered eating. Opal offers mental health counseling, nutrition counseling, family therapy and psychiatric services at all levels of care. We now provide non-clinical, free lodging for our PHP and IOP clients. At Opal clients receive holistic, relational based care that is responsive to research and grounded in a Health at Every Size approach. We are in-network with most major insurance companies.

Reset Summer Camp is a fully immersive, residential 4-week, clinical program, hosted on a college campus, with a fun-filled, summer camp atmosphere. Teens detox from their screen addictions and learn how to self-regulate while participating in individual/group therapy. The Life Skills program creates understanding and builds self-confidence so our campers will be able to handle their real-world responsibilities. At THIRA, we specialize in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and even have Dr. Kathryn Korslund (a key researcher and developer of DBT methods and training) on staff. Originally developed at the University of Washington by Marsha Linehan, Ph.D., DBT was first designed to treat interpersonal chaos, intense emotional swings, impulsiveness, confusion about the self (identity), and suicidal behavior. It is based on a bio-social theory that states that problems develop from the interaction of biological factors (physiological makeup) and environmental factors (learning history), which together create difficulty managing emotions. DBT is therefore appropriate for a range of additional problems that relate to emotion dysregulation such as depression, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, anger-related problems, and substance use problems. A great deal of research has been conducted on the effectiveness of DBT and, in general, DBT appears as effective or more effective than other “talk based” psychotherapies for the problems mentioned above.
