The Struggle
For some, sexuality that was once pleasurable becomes increasingly harder to control and enjoy in a safe, sane, and consensual manner. There are many names for out-of-control sexual behavior, including "sex addiction" "sexual compulsivity" and "love addiction", but when you look at the underlying behavior, the same elements are usually present. Kinds of Compulsive Sexual Behavior
People who have sexual compulsivity issues may exhibit any or all of the following problem behaviors: addiction to Internet pornography, other abuse of pornography (DVDs, magazines, etc.), abuse of 1-900 numbers or Internet chat rooms, which may or may not include sexual encounters, sex with prostitutes, peeping Tom, voyeurism /exhibitionism, unsafe / anonymous sex, serial infidelity, any risky sexual behaviors that jeopardize health, job, relationship, or freedom from prosecution, or troubling and compulsive fantasies that may have not been actualized to this point Highland Can Help
Although many obstacles complicate the treatment of compulsive sexuality, effective treatment is available. The Highland Compulsivity Center is staffed by Psychologists, Professional Counselors and Social Workers who specialize in the treatment of sexual addiction and compulsivity. At the Highland Compulsivity Center, we aim to make the treatment of sexual compulsivity as simple, as easy and as rapid as possible. To this end, we include a wide range of services including assessment, treatment planning, individual, couples and family therapy, as well as follow-up and aftercare. Our program is designed to be open-ended (no specific entry or exit point), but is equipped to deal with those whose compulsions are long-standing as well as those who have only recently recognized their problem behavior. Our approach is not shame-based; nor do we espouse, promote, or discount any client's belief system. Call or Email Highland Compulsivity Center now for a free 15 minute consultation - (678) 394-0298
