Capable of Handling Diverse Problem Presentation
The Psychological Clinic is a University of Michigan facility that provides a safe, confidential environment in which adults, 18 and older, can get the treatment they need to start enjoying happier lives. Our clinicians offer help to clients who are dealing with any number of concerns or difficulties, some of which include: anxiety, depression, sexual identity or preferences, bereavement & grief, issues with personal or professional relationships, and dealing with a traumatic event as well as psycho-social problems of aging. We are dedicated to providing an environment in which our clients feel open to sharing and receiving help, and we work to provide a culturally sensitive consultation for each individual. Evidence-based & Integrative Approach to Treatment
Our multidisciplinary staff is committed to addressing their clients' unique needs by utilizing evidence-based and integrative methods of treatment. Our staff has been expertly trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for depression and anxiety disorders, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Brief Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Prolonged Exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma, as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System for Psychotherapy, and Emotion Focused Therapy for individuals and couples. The clinic offers group psychotherapies that focus on: social anxiety and perfectionism; depression; stress inoculation, self-care for caregivers; and ADD/ADHD management. Of course, we also provide individualized consultation, psychological assessment and treatment. It's Your Call
When you contact the clinic, you will be asked to provide basic information about yourself and your presenting symptoms, and you will be given a time to complete an inventory that will assist our staff in developing a treatment plan with you. After an initial consultation and treatment planning meeting, you will be matched with the therapy and therapist to assist you in establishing the goals of treatment. Clinicians at the Psychological Clinic are experienced psychologists, social workers, and psychiatrists, who provide direct treatment as well as supervise our post-doctoral psychology fellows, social work fellows, psychology interns, and clinical social work interns who provide therapy as well.
