Services for the Whole Family in One Place
UCCF is a University of Michigan facility offering a comprehensive range of mental health services for children, adolescents, and families. Our facility was designed with families in mind; our waiting room includes a play room for children, and child care is available during appointments. We are strongly committed to helping children, teens, couples and families enjoy happier lives, more satisfying relationships, and increased success at school or work. Parking is conveniently located in the Liberty Square Parking Structure directly above us on 500 E. Washington Street.
A Collaborative and Caring Approach for Families
UCCF offers counseling, therapy, and mental health services to children and families in parenting; ASD; emotional and behavioral concerns; social skills; grief and loss; learning disabilities; and relationship issues for couples and spouses. A range of assessments and diagnostic services are also available for children. Psychoeducational evaluations include a review of the child's educational and relevant medical records. A comprehensive assessment is developed which is tailored to each individual child. A report on the findings, specific recommendations and a feedback session is also provided. Our Learning Specialist is available to provide consultation to parents, teachers, and schools regarding interventions and school placement decisions. We offer social skills groups that are designed to help children learn the important skills for establishing relationships and maintaining positive social interactions with peers. Our parent education workshop provides parents with practical information about ADHD and LD, and helps with the challenges that families face. Group leaders deliver brief lectures, provide coping tools, and facilitate discussions.
Multi-Disciplinary Staff That Is Ready To Help
UCCF has a multi-disciplinary staff that includes psychologists, social workers, a psychiatrist, BCBAs, a speech-language pathologist, doctoral and post-doctoral level psychology interns, and clinical social work interns. Clinical interventions are provided by professional staff and graduate level students under the close supervision of professional staff. UCCF's diverse staff provides culturally sensitive consultations for every case. Our staff members await your call or email for the chance to help you and your loved ones get firmly back on your feet again.
